many people forget the mental aspect....riding for a hundred miles on an afternoon, which many can do...add 5-600 more miles and 6-8 more hours....many have the physical ability...but the mental aspect is difficult. Great video. When you race a rally...it keep your feet on the pegs and your right hand cranked.
Those crickets are amazing, they make almost the same sound as some one in the supermarket queue with headphones on listening to biscuit tin 'music'. All great advice Vanessa, this has clearly illustrated to me that I'm highly unlikely to compete in a rally. I'm unfit, I'm getting on a bit... ok maybe just a little tiny bit more than a bit ... oh and I can no longer ride bikes following surgeries. But I love them (I still have one) after some many thousands of fun and not so fun miles on two wheels over the decades. Take care and be safe.
😂 thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it, hopefully my Africa Eco Race series doesnt stress you out too much when its release hehehe, mega appreciate your support
Love watching the trials and tribulations of you competing, but sadly for me those days have well gone, must be amazing though with the bikes and equipment you have at your disposal these days. Thank you.
You heard cricket players in the field? Couldn't resist. More fun watching you and IB road book racing. Might need to get an "old fart parking sticker" for my bikes this summer.
So you don't recommend taking the "Dirk Gently" Zen Navigation approach of finding someone who looks like they know where they're going and following them?
Hard enough riding a 1000km day on roads... Done it a few times criss-crossing the continental US, can't imagine how much worse it would be wrangling your bike over absolute sh!t terrain in terrible weather.

😂 your comments always make me giggle, thank you! and thank you for your ongoing support and following along with all my adventures
I get stressed just watching a rally. But your videos are refreshing. Good job.

Haha this made me giggle, but no i would not recommend that
Do they have rallies for old duffers like me with cream teas every 90mins?
😅
I really love this channel, but… how do you fund all of this!?’
Yey thanks so much, super glad to hear you enjoy the videos! Alot of hardwork and time

Rallies can definitely be quite challenging, especially long multi day and multi week ones
