It is implied that Isshin is ridiculously powerful. To push Aizen back with one finger flick after barely regaining his powers means he was likely one of the most powerful captains of his generation. He is a descendant of Noble Shiba and was probably that once in a decade Descendant who could learn Bankai. He was underutilized, but I see why story-wise.
Branch family in the Shiba clan, as Isshin is part of, these members have naturally higher spiritual pressure than all other Shinigami. Good call mate.
(Spoiler Alert) Isshin is ridiculously powerful because his Zanpakto Engentsu is indeed super jacked and we've witnessed it in action against Aizen. This can be seen through Ichigo, who has inherited Engetsu and has had it unintentionally fused with the hollow White, creating his own Zanpakto Zangetsu (which resulted in being even stronger than Engetsu).
Yeah I actually am not joking, it seems to me that Ichigo and Isshin are prodigies, even in their clan's standards.
Adding to this, Isshin was in his BASE form when fought with Aizen - pushing him back with a forehead flick and cracking Aizen's chrysalis with a getsuga tensho. This is the same Aizen where captains in bankai and shikai and visoreds with masks on were struggling with

Isshin was considered the second most powerful Captain of his generation below Yamamoto.
Aizen was below Isshin, and Aizen was considered the strongest Captain below Yamamoto... Yeah people be Sleeping of Isshin.

I think on a „fair“ battle, Isshin would rape Aizen. Like Isshin didn‘t even activate his Shikai nor Bankai. But that‘s just my opinion.

It's stated he cannot go into Bankai if he's hurt. So he either hasn't mastered it; or his Bankai is very high-risk to himself.
I’m pretty sure it’s the latter...and it only adds to how dangerous that bankai is

@@aimanbabahmed7449 mmmm I would say at the very least Ichigo’s first bankai (and the first bankai in the show) says otherwise, since he got really bloodied up by trying to fend off senbonzakura in shikai form, but when he went to bankai he was suddenly fine again and pretty much kicked ass against someone like Byakuya
@@bg357wg he was kicking byakuyas ass untill he couldnt sustain his own bankai anymore and became slower and slower until he couldnt even move. So yeah bankai puts a strain to u. Especially if u havent mastered it or ur in a bad shape. Remember that in that fight ichigo wasnt fully healed and only just attained bankai. Normally it takes 10 years to fully master bankai.
@@aimanbabahmed7449 I’m not necessarily disagreeing with the part that bankai puts a strain on the user in most cases (of course, wielding greater power and emitting larger amounts of reiatsu is always more draining) I’m only disputing the part where being in good physical condition is a necessary prerequisite for all to enter and use bankai, as we’ve seen many characters go into bankai after being beat up and cornered in shikai form. Ikkaku vs Edrad Is another example that just came to mind.
The main reason people underestimate Isshin is because he didn't do jack shit with his power.

It kind of doesn’t make sense why they weren’t going all out against Aizen. They know the stakes if Aizen gets his way so why didn’t they use their bankais. Isshin didn’t even use shikai
For Isshin it was just rust (since his own bankai actually causes damage to own body similar to Soul Society bankai Ichigo's bankai bone crushing reiatsu); Yoruichi doesn't like using her Zanpakuto, she prefers hand to hand combat (& seeing from the TYBW when she fought Askin, she'd rather die than use her half baked power up which means she'd rather die than use her Zanpakuto) & Kanon Baraki Benehime Aratame would have proved useless against Aizen
Getsuga tensho is an ability from Engetsu, we've seen different shikai configurations with Tousen and Yumichica. A getsuga is not a sealed sword attack so he was using shikai
They didn't go all out because it was essentially futile. Kisuke knows about the hogyoku, he made it after all. I'm sure he knew that Aizen's fusing with it would make him immortal. There was no way they could beat him. Ichigo had to have time in the Dangai to train, and that was only possible due to Isshin's power being enough to hold the Dangai for as long as he did. Ichigo was then able to push Aizen to the point where Kisuke's seal could activate.

He wears his fullbring much like his bankai, indicating that lke his bankai, his entire spirit energy is compressed which increases his attack speed and power. Tsukishima made mention to this unforseen speed and when Ichigo actually uses gersuga, they mentioned he's merged his shinigami powers with fullbring. It is a zanpakuto ability. Final getsuga tensho for Isshin should be something he could do on his own without consulting his zanpakuto if it wasn't his zanpakuto ability
Let's take a moment to realize that isshin wasn't fight white seriously because he knew aizin was there as well as not wanting to affect the world of the living too much either and remember isshin was one of the people aizin would advoid

Isshin is one of my Favorite bleach Char‘s and I’m 100% sure, without Aizen having the Hogyoko he would have beat the living shit out of Aizen. Aizen couldn’t do shit against Isshin before the Hogyoko made him transform and even if we say Aizen held back... so did Isshin, not using Shikai nor Bankai. Aizen just got the survival Plotarmor called Hogyoko that Regens him, without that he‘d lose to Isshin 100%. I wish we would have seen a Isshin that goes all out or close to it.
They didn't have Isshin fight Yhwach because daddy Kurosaki would've just slapped him and the fight would've been over.
The fact that isshin hasn't shown his awakened form should really speak volumes. Im not up-to-date on bleach after the anime shows (didn't read manga I really need to)ended, so what I know might be out dated but come on we don't even know what his ability are everything he has done is all him no added strength from his zanpakuto no hacks nothing its all up in the air maybe he is so far above everyone else and has 0 f to give because he could end anything as he sees fit ... why be concerned about ... I always wanted to see Ishin’s bankai, but I don’t mind not seeing it, I found the concept of not being able to use Bankai while badly wounded interesting. Makes the Bankai feel powerful.

The reason might be that after loosing his shingami powers for 20 years and regaining them back means he might have to learn bankai once more as well as mugtesu due to him loosing his link with his powers for so long. This is just my theory.
I think it's because unlike Ichigo Isshin had no other spirit that would supress Engetsu and allow Isshin to use it safely until he mastered it's Bankai form fully.
That means that Isshin's Bankai much like Ichigo's is simply too powerful for him to use and if he has to, it's still be a big risk because the sheer power of it would cause explosions in his surroundings.

isshins shikai/bankai(idk wich one it was) turns his blood into flames and power so if hes hurt just a litle and blood is flowing out he might just burn himself to death and there might also be some friendly fire risk aswell
What if that Aizen just wanted the lumen and never intended to kill the gotei as he wanted them to see him becoming the king of all that’s why he might have been holding back while fighting the trio of danger.....

i like him as much as i like minato in naruto. I'm really sad that he did not get a real full fight. Though he is not as strong as aizen. Aizen like madara was so confident in his power that he did not take the fight really seriously. But he is a monster, one of the best shinigami amongs all the captains and captains level character. he deserves a spot on the top 10.
Isshin finger does more damage than the whole Gotei 13 and the Visored combined and that was only his base he didn't even release his Shikai

I always assumed Isshin was stronger because he is Shiba, one of the four oldest families of Soul Society, and I assumed these families are very powerful. The other families being Shouhoin and Kuchiki. The other family I can't remember the name. But anyway that's why I thought Ichigo was so powerful because he was a Shiba

I don't think he is as powerfull as the likes of Shunsui or Gin (since Gin f*cking killed the version of Aizen that knocked him up in 1 attack and Shunsui fought against Lile Barro and did considerably well)

Ya Isshin is up there in the top tier. I mean he and Urahara each bested at least one form of the transforming Aizen when he would have been dramatically more powerful than he was just as a captain. As a captain, even without his tricks Aizen was a match for most of the existing captains save a few.

We never see him in his true power. Remember currently in his current state he doesnt have all his former abilities since he gave it up when he married ichigos mother. In his weakened stated he was able to embarrass aizen and never even entered his bankai form. In his prime he must've been super powerful.

I've never believed that the time is the same in the world of the living vs SS vs HM. If it was ALL of this stuff happened to EVERYONE. In one summer? Or sorry, in the fall. Think about that. The problem with aizen vs isshin is, aizen isn’t going all out. He’s not using his shikai, which they don’t have a counter for. But aizen is feeding his reiatsu into the hogkyoku. So he’s technically fighting a nerfed aizen. How much is debatable, but it is a nerf. The crack that isshin made is less because he had the power to do so, and more as that’s just a cocoon and he broke that, doing no actual damage to aizen. But I do agree that base aizen to base isshin is pretty comparable.

I don't think he's more powerful than base Aizen. You have to remember that before they fought, Aizen took a direct hit from Yama when he sacrificed his arm. That was a huge attack and Aizen tanked it. It probably drained him a great deal. Aizen had also just finished fighting half of the soul society alone. Isshin came in fresh and probably super pumped because he had just gotten his powers back. I would put the two of them in roughly the same power bracket at base level. Urahara as well.
He’s a lot more stronger than we know and he knew of transcendence imagine if he learnt it and aizen knows something as well I hope kubo or someone else shows his bankai we only know it takes a toll on his body if damaged but in my opinion I would push him to be somewhere on kenpachi in his shikai. The Ichigo vs Byaguka fight isn't a very good power comparison, even throughout the fight Ichigos Hollow/True Shinigami powers kept increasing his power/influencing him more than they where supposed to, and his mask was quite a bit stronger then it was supposed to be aswell. In a regular sparring or even regular battle scenario that isn't an emergency deathmatch, Byakuya was still a fair bit stronger. Similar to how Ichigo beat Kenpachi, yet the next arc Kenpachi was boxing actual strong Espada, and beating them, aswell with him and Byakuya fighting Espada 0.
We know that Isshin using Shikai or Bankai damages his body, so that's most likely the reason he didn't use them, since he was just again getting used to his powers, and his body wasn't used to it again... However... Why do they hurt his body just using them?
Theory: Isshin is so insanely strong in his base form, that even using his Shikai propels him into the tier of transcendent beings, making his Bankai probably ranked 2nd or third even among Squad 0. HOWEVER, because his base state isn't quite at the level of a transcendent being requires, this naturally causes damage to him.
This is my best guess on why his Shikai/Bankai hurt him, which leads to the reason he didn't use them and just one shot 2nd or 3rd, possibly even 4th form Aizen.
Kenpachi got stronger after his fight with Ichigo. Actually, he regained part of his original power. After the fight with Noitra he became even more stronger as he almost died there. Yammy was a joke to him by the time they fought.
I believe he is above base Aizen but I don't really think he can fight 2nd and 3rd fusion Aizen, he admits that he can't feel aizens SP and said that the only person who can feel it is someone who had reached the same level so he admitted that he isn't on that level. And about his mugetsu its really interesting but we don't really know about it and I don't think we can predict how much he will get stronger when he uses it.

I don't know why ppl don't scale ishinn's dangai feat he literally held it together it was stated to be outside of the regular time space that should count as something you should've covered it lol he could maybe be universal+ maybe higher I guess?

Everyone is forgetting that Aizen took a huuuuge kido hit from Yama before Isshin engaged him. That shot probably tank Aizens power quite a bit.
🙄 GF wasn't even gillian classed before the evo and we hv adjucha eating thousands of other adjucha being only lieutenant classed. GF's zanpakuto was proportionally great to his reiatsu level and compare tht to ep 1 Ichigo's who is still sub menos in the hollow class ranges. A gillian has hundreds of thousands of times the reiatsu of sub menos and we got perfect arrancars from the adjucha class, a class 2 stages above GF, that are losing to lieutenants. GF was nowhere near captain class, nowhere near even 3rd seat for that matter as he should really be nowhere near D-Roy's level who'd get off screened by any lieutenant.

Byakuya the jobber. Only survived till the end of the manga because the byakuya fan girls/boys were raging on kubo and sending death threats.
Well i believe ichigo could have one shotted Byakuya if he was at full power with out Bankai... Remember it was stated that Old man Zangetsu (his quincy half) was purposely supressing Ichigo's full power by more then half alao ichigo didn't have a true Zanpakuto wich allows a Shinigami to fight at their full true power.
Basically ichigo was nerfed.
I would also like to state ichigo was actually nerfed in his fight with Aizen, he couldnt access gis full Vizord powers cause he was afraid of losing control again. Kubo stated if ichigo was not afraid then he would have been able to summon his Hollows full power wich is the form we see Shiro Zangetsu use when ichigo wants to gain Final getsuga.
Dangai ichigo btw is just ichigo at full power not being held back and is completely one with his hollow and quincy powers.
Now ichigo should have been stronger then Isshin.
Though Dangai ichigo also got a year worth of training in a day basically trying to learn final getsuga.
So I wouldn't say full powered ichigo is exactly on par with dangai ichigo but near there, i would basically put base full power ichigo above isshin.
