    Thank you for this recipe! BTW, your buttermilk scones is still my go to when I want to eat scones with my tea. Please consider making a video on how to make the pineapple jam in a crockpot, or iPot. Have a happy new year - hello, 2023!

    Thank you so much for making this video and going into detail with each of the steps! I first time I had nastar one of my friends made it for me and it was really yummy. I wanted to make it again to eat so I’m really glad I found your recipe. I didn’t know how much work and time went into making it so I am very appreciative to my friend. Thank you for showing the whole process and each step. They look so yummy! Can’t wait to make these once I have the time and the ingredients. 👍🏼❤️😋🍍

      @@BeatrixStein Thank you for sharing your recipe! I was wondering- do you ever put a little bit of shredded cheese on top of these cookies? The ones my friend made had some sort of shredded cheese sprinkled on top so I was wondering if that’s a personal preference or something they do in Indonesia?

    • @BeatrixStein
      @BeatrixStein  3 года назад

      @@kellyh7158 I never heard of that, so it must be a personal preference. The Dutch-Indonesian cookies which have shredded cheese on top are called Kaastengels. You can find the recipe in another one of my videos. They’re a savory cookie - one of the trio of Indonesian holiday cookies, and they are much easier to make than Nastar. :)

      Beatrix Stein ohhh okay. Thank you! I’ll try checking out that other video too 👍🏼😄

      @@BeatrixStein I watched your video on the kaastengals. I’ve actually tried those before too from another Indonesian friend that made them for me. They were pretty good, definitely different with the salty cookie and cheese. Salty and sweet is always a good combination in my book 🙂. Maybe I’ll have to try both recipes when I have the time.

    Hello. What’s the purpose of cooling it down before egg-washing? thanks

    • @BeatrixStein
      @BeatrixStein  8 месяцев назад

      The hot nastars are too soft - brushing will dent them.

    Hi. Thanks for sharing your recipe . What’s the purpose of the milk powder? Can I omit it?

    • @BeatrixStein
      @BeatrixStein  8 месяцев назад +1

      The milk powder is to maximize the texture to be more moist. And yes you can omit the milk.

    • @BeatrixStein
      @BeatrixStein  2 года назад

      You can use 1 whole fresh pineapple. If you don’t use up all of the jam, you can keep it in a jar and store in the fridge to eat with your toast. :)
