Since u said your previous employer will be willing to answer on the phone call I don't think it'll be an issues, and in such cases where u r facing difficulties you will be having an HR to whom you can report about the problem. I don't think so it'll be an issue. Hope the onboarding process will be smooth. ☺

On joining date you'll just receive a mail to accept the joining date, so don't worry. You will be onboarded on 31st of January.

Hello sir, i accepted the offer letter 2 weeks(11th may) before but haven't received any welcome mail till date, i have raised multiple queries and it is showing that date of joining will be assigned soon but is not mentioning about the welcome mail. Kindly help me out with this.
