when i discovered XG was about 3 weeks ago now..The first music video i watched is mascara and i thought they were around for quite awhile..Did a little research and my jaw drop how new this group is..Now im fan of XG..
I discovered them also about 2 weeks ago and my first video was Xypher....I was blown away!!! Instant fan now.
The ONLY group where everyone is bias-wrecking me
weirdly enough I love their performances even more than the MV (and that's saying something cause the MV is ABSOLUTELY amazing), so i feel that's saying something about the girls' stage presence XD
Also, I vibe so hard with both songs, I really can't choose 😝

XG is always FIRE. These ladies are a next level talent they can do it all
They only have 4 songs besides the covers. I think XG shows the most potential based off the talent I see in these ladies, and they don't seem to be trying.
There is one video that with upper angle capture all the dance, FIND IT!!!! u will excactly see all the control and syncronaize

I have been a fan pre-debut when I first even heard about them . I knew from their debut TIppy Toes, that they were going to be something else and I was right. They've only had a small handful of songs released but they have had solo videos that showcases their talents . Definitely watch them all .

Ugh. I hate how i found out who the choreographers are too easily lol. Both Shooting Stars and Left Right are choreographed by Sienna Lalau, The Lab and Kiel Tutin. Choreography director for both are Renan.
And their names were displayed when they were singing. I'm surprised you didn't catch that.

Been with XG since pre-debut performances. I recommend if havent seen them. The youngest is 16 and oldest is 20. They are "Them".
The first videos for the Live Stage performances were recorded from XG's live stream show and released without permission. The only valid Live Stage performances are the ones released later from XGALX. That's why the initial ones were blocked and taken down. Like you I was initially blown away with Shooting Star but got stunned when Left Right came out. Visually, Shooting Star has so much to feast your eyes on, while Left Right time warps me back into the 90's-2K and I freaking love it. It's XG! Way to start 2023!
This should be the A side, IMO. I also think if COCONA ever gets some solo's they are going to explode. She is on a whole other level.
no dance practice yet but there's a k-choreo tower cam of a shooting star performance that stays fixed and captures the full dance! i highly recommend! I'd leave a link but i don't know how kindly youtube takes to links in comments
First hearing of both songs I was leaning more towards left right after a few(quite a lot) of listens now I think I lean towards shooting star lol both are great though

I wouldn't put XG and NewJeans in the same age category, if XG sang Cookie now that their youngest is 17 and will be 18 this year, I wouldn't be as weirded out by it. If you're less than a year from 18, I think it's fair to give a pass, as long as the girls are okay with it. However, NewJeans maknae is FOURTEEN 😬 no ma'am.
As an older kpop fan that has been into the genre since 2008, it's the first time I've just been too uncomfortable listening to a young group, because they certainly aren't the first super young group of idols. But the innuendos were so blatant, I don't typically even pay much attention to lyrics and I immediately looked online to see if anyone else was grossed out by Cookie.
Regardless, NewJeans voices aren't that distinctive, and each XG member has a distinct voice that I enjoy more.
I wouldn’t categorize them the same in terms of age but they are both fourth generation groups with a very distinctive swagger to them, something the other 4th gen groups, I feel, fail to portray. Both XG and NewJeans have mastered that 90s, Y2K vibe without coming off as gimmicky.
I am with you when it come to New Jeans. Although I like the songs, the fact that they resemble my daughter when she was in high school and that the themes appear to relate to young high school crushes, puts me off. Kind of silly considering I went through that when I was in high school. Left Right hits the adult version of me. I can listen to this song with my wife and not be turned off by it. That it takes a Japanese girl group to bring back a R&B vibe that sounds so familiar is unbelievable. Like Chris says, it sounds so familiar, so soothing, it makes my old ass want to dance to it and the dance moves aren't so difficult that I wouldn't mind trying them out on the dance floor!
