The property had a city work order on it. Not only should the owner of this building by liable, the incompetent city should be liable as well. I’ve reported several homeowners for building illegal extensions and the city does nothing. Unreal.
I remembered my co-worker told me that one of their neighbours decided to redecorate their basement. Both husband and wife haven't done any research before making decisions. They wanted to make the basement look bigger. They were crazy enough to spent two days to pull out the metal support bean that they though it was useless. Two days later, the first floor started slowly collapsing inward. They called the original builder and they had to pay over ten thousand dollars just to put the support bean back to its original position. That was over 10 years ago.
Those 3 buildings are affected, the roofs of all 3 are connected as one, so they all need to be removed. this looks like the roof was not maintained and allowed to rot and break. i have one question, how did no one hear or notice the roof collapse...?
There’s a brand new condo going up DIRECTLY across the road from from this dump. I wonder if vibrations from the new construction triggered an already compromised structure?
They should have interviewed the convenience store owner instead of the customer, Suya Lee. Suya Lee could barely string a sentence together. What a horrible speaker!
no the landlord said soon she will fall , collect all the rent money and see if it falls by self then build a new building and repeat the same process , we need to stay very rich here lol
Pets and family photos I sure hope before they trigger the demolition. This all falls squarely on the building owners collecting income! These folks must be compensated. Hope all the tenants get together on a lawsuit for their losses.
Such neglect by the owner of the building, and then the city of Toronto, is no accident, it’s intentional. It’s only by pure fortune, that no one was severely injured or killed. Years ago, former Mayor John Tory in his misguided logic and lack of wisdom, replaced all window A/C’s at the City of Toronto’s expense in all TCHC buildings. In favour of less efficient portable A/C’s. All over one single tragic accident. A single window safety bracket would have sufficed, and been much cheaper in the long run. The cost of the new, less efficient portable A/C units, using much more electricity, straining the grid. I digress. In this case, that building was flagged in 2014 as being unsafe and having structural deficiencies. Nothing was ever done until this week when construction workers across the street, noticed it about to collapse. Is the City of Toronto now going to blitz the GTA and replace all deficient structure’s ? It makes you wonder who and what occupies the office's at City Hall ? 🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦🙄🤨
This is negligence, this slumlord obviously hasn’t maintained the property at all
They should be liable for all costs

building can collapse from poor maintenance..?
@@ugh-su5qg yes, lack of basic maintenance can result in a variety of structural problems
Captain Obvious
Those building are So old, giving maintenance is probably very expensive and all the bills to pay and taxes. It's crazy.
Definitely the owner pinching pennies and never doing maintenance properly👀
Yeah but how did it pass inspection?
I totally never thought of that. I believe the inspector had his palms greased.🤑🤑
@@DistractionPicklesEveryWhere It's Toronto, corruption runs rampant with inspectors and the government. It's been happening forever.

shame, thats a million dollar property. don't slam the windows in that whole block.
Someone wants to develop it I imagine, condos coming soon.
And heavy rain is forecast to start tonight and lasting through the weekend. That thing could go down in the next 48 hours.
A new condo will go up once they demolish this "accident"
Funny enough there IS a new condo building being built directly across from it!

It was built 160 years ago. Check City Hall records

It's incredible how people lost the ability to articulate a sentence
Another building that will probably get repurposed into a Condo building

i guess they will have to get skilled ppl outside of the city to fix this.

Kensington Market in Toronto.
The building looks like 200 years
It looked very modern on the pictures

This is what happens with rent control. Rents need to double or tripple in Canada. Canadians receive high pay and can afford rent to double at least.
