I think the only reason why you go with the Superblast over these is if you want some extra protection over a tempo long run. But Mach X2 feel much better to me at slower paces, and can pick up faster paces than the SB as well. It's also cheaper and more available. If you get along with the upper, you'll love this shoe.
Hi Edd. I apologize for my lack of activity on your channel. I've had runners knee for like 5 weeks and it's been a bummer mentally not being able to run. Hope you are doing well friend.
Yup, this is a great shoe. Heel collar is not super locked in but it works okay. No blisters for me. Find this much better than v1 which was a bit dull tbh!
I had some rubbing in the heel, but instead of returning them, I started putting KT tape over the area and am having no issues. That’s how good this shoe is. I just want to get them out of the box every day.
Different use cases for me personally. I have the v1 if both these shoes and mach x is for middle distance tempo/ effort runs where as Superblast I use for longer tempo and long runs. Would go any further than 7 miles in mach x 1 causes lower limb issues so if theyve improved the foam on v2 Ill be keen to try
I only trust the running shoe reviews of people who appreciate the genius of Scott Walker. But seriously, I’d love to hear more about what you put in your running playlists.
My favorite shoe of the year. What I love about this shoe is that it feels great at slow paces, unlike the Superblast which for me, don't really shine unless you're in tempo speed. Also, the Mach X2 feel lighter and more nimble than the Superblast. If they can soften up the upper just a tad in the X3, they'll have my earth credits again.
I thought the heel felt low at the back causing a little slippage(even with a runners knot) but no irritation. The upper felt a little snug on the foot bump causing added pressure(I guess I could of changed the lacing configuration) ran 8 miles in them and although they felt quick, they offered me nothing different to my rotation. I’ve just taken delivery of the topo specter 2 after the uk release a few days ago👌
After this review its on my radar. Im in the Philippines so I will have to really hunt to find a Hoka store. You always have to worry about counterfeits here.
Houston we have a problem. Already had my eye on it and, well, I'm afraid I might need to ramp up my weekly millage to justify another pair. Legs and feet really confused right now- "oooh this will feel good!" -"But no! we can't handle any more!". Wallet tends to agree on the latter.
I've also ordered a pair of these in a wide. I'm surprised that Hoka of all people have made a 2E version of a faster shoe, but I'm glad that they have!
@@stan657 the pair I ordered arrived today. I have put them on and I'm surprised by how tight they are - at first I thought Hoka had sent me the standard width shoes inside of 2E, but the label says 2E.

I was so afraid of the Blisters story so went for a 5K.. Half way through I realised I forgot about it.. No irritation or anything like that.. Took the shoe out at home looking for damage.. Skin smooth and no irritation. Did a long VO2 max run yesterday. Heel is loose but no irritation.
Great review, really want to try this shoe but worried about the reported heel issue and splashing out the earth credits, how does it compare with the Cielo x1 upper which works well for me
I really love the foam and bounce of the mach 6. But I was struggling with the width of the mach 6. Now that I have 100 k in em, the upper finally gave a bit and is better fitting. But more then 10 k will still kill my feet. Really would love to try the mach x2, but must say, size wise I'm a bit reluctant. Guess I'll just have to try and if I notice any problem after one run, send them back. But would really like a mach 6 feeling shoe that I could run 2 hours in.
A friend of mine just got the exact same shoe. Bigger guy about 14 stone ish for an Asian dude. Heard his comment was that after 8km, he had heel rubbing. Might be something that deters people who are more sensitive to this or wear ankle socks (Gen X and Y where yall at?)
Hi mate ! Thanks for the review ! How would you compare the toebox width against the Skyward X for example? Also I think you could try the Balos. For me it’s the shoe of the year (and my favorite shoe ever?)
I have major issues with Hoka shoes after my experience with rapidly disappearing outsoles on my Speedgoat 5s. I think the Deviate Nitro 2 is still the best overall. Nothing else is worth the extra earth credits for a normal runner I'd say. Proof me wrong? Suggestions are very welcome, what are everyone's thoughts?

Sometimes I listen to Rick Wakeman Journey to the Center of the Earth recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall in 1974. I would have loved to be a member of that audience. It was a powerful show. That dude has some serious keyboard talent.
I ended up getting a blister on my right foot on the first day I wore the shoes.Damn it so fast haha! I'm not entirely sure of the cause, but it might be because I opted for a size 0.5 larger than my usual. Normally, I wear a UK9, but for these shoes, many suggested going up by half a size. Is anyone feel the same? But in term of the speed , Its totally fast shoes , sometimes it can't stop me to reduce the speed on my easy run day!
I’ve owned two pairs of Hoka’s and both lit the dorsilateral portion of my mid foot on fire. I think it has to do with a higher side wall? How do these fit compared to the Skyward X or Mach X?
I've been on a beano to Blackpool and had Jonny Brownlee fly past me at the Northern Road Relays. I thought I was doing well at sub 3:30/km pace, but he clocked 3:00/km... Potpourri! Will there be anything by Tony Angelino? 😭
