    I appreciate honest reviews. We put so much time researching for our kids, and it helps to know the good, the bad, and the ugly.

      +Road Traveled Less thanks. No curriculum is perfect so I feel it’s always important to know the good and the bad even with my favorites.

    Thank you for this review. My son is in 1st and we use Good and Beautiful and Masterbooks blended together for Lang Arts, Math, science, and Social studies. They are a perfect blend together. Takes a little extra planning. Ut not to bad. We are a police family so our schedule is crazy but we are making it work. Thank you for your positivity and uplifting spirit. Be blessed and best of luck for your homeschooling journey!

    I’ve seen other moms supplement for where they feel they need to for their own child’s weaknesses. Clearly a benefit since it’s affordable and flexible. The 3rd level does review and spiral level 2’s material so you do get to see what they remembered and what they need to work on. For level 2, the child should’ve already covered most phonics in K and 1 so it’s more about developing grammar/language in a fun and gentle way. Hope you find a curriculum that best suits your family 💜

      Beloved1 thanks that’s great to know about level 3 and that it spirals. I know so many families who have found this to be a fantastic fit for their family and I really do think it can be a great program for the right child. Not for us this year but who knows maybe in the future I will have a child who it would be perfect for. Thanks so much for watching.

    Hi! I just love this curriculum so much! But I did worry it wasn’t enough. Because it’s so Bible based, which I love, I thought I would use it alongside scripture reading daily coupled with some gentle LA. Then, still use another LA program which is also light…Easy Peasy LA 😊

    I actually appreciate this review. You were very detailed about cost as to ebook to workbook as well as your thoughts with reasons why. Thank you!

    I was so hopeful for LLFLE myself. I do love many things about it, especially the daily work marked and that it's very open and go. BUT I agree with you. My son has dyslexia and dysgraphia and I find I have just gone with a different spelling and writing program on top of the LL to ensure I am teaching my son thoroughly. I really wished it was going to be perfect on its own but Im just going to keep supplementing until we finish. I look forward to what you are choosing for the following school year. Im thinking of going back to TGTB now that it has been revised into daily lessons similar to LL.

      tiffany harris yes that was disappointing to me too. I can’t wait to share what we will be using later this month!!! Thanks so much for watching.

    Its not phonics heavy because it is supposed to follow Foundation Phonics. That did a world of wonders for my dyslexic kiddo. We went slowly through it for first grade and the kid who could not read at all started to really read. We do pull other things at times as we need to. As far as spelling they say in the teaching section "Allow the student to enjoy learning how to spell words rather than being overly concerned with mastery." There is a lot that can be adapted or skipped. But it sounds like you want something more intense for 1st grade than this book is intended to be for. The LLFLE books build on one another. It goes slow and then they build on it in each book. We have used 1-4 and there are some times we have needed to substitute or adapt but I think that is true for any curriculum. But overall it is pretty easy for us to get through and for my children who hate LA to get through.

      Totally see what your saying. We did try foundation phonics and unfortunately it didn’t click well for my kids but that’s the beauty of homeschool curriculum is you can find what works best for you and your family. I love that it has worked so wonderfully for you guys and I do believe it is a solid curriculum it just didn’t work real great for us. Thanks for sharing.

      I find it so amazing that every dyslexic child just has that one thing that just clicks for them and it’s always different for every kid. I’m currently working through my child’s dyslexia.
      40L free online phonics video lessons did wonders for her but were still going.

    I'm undecided on LLFLE for the reasons you listed. I'll probably use it but try supplementing with other programs. However..I'm conflicted about what the point is if I'm supplementing. It is affordable so that's a plus. I can't wait to hear more!

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  5 лет назад

      Krystal Rowe well I know several families who love it as is so your children might not need the supplements so that’s the good news. I love the fact that it’s affordable too it’s one of the many benefits of the program.

    Im not sure if there would be enough phonics in for us but we already do a lot of phonics work anyway. We are looking at more hands on activities for spellings and to help with reading. I’m making letter cards. We do extra spellings anyway. No curriculum is perfect. We love narration. We are looking at a creative writing curriculum at the mo.

    Would the fact that their books are more incremental and slow help in this regard. My child is considered 4th grade by public standards but I have her in level 3 LA of master books (which would be considered 2nd grade according to public standards). So she’s “behind” but I feel her brain could truly comprehend the content in a way that 2nd or 3rd graders maybe couldn’t. That’s just my thoughts on it.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  3 года назад

      It’s possible, that’s the beauty of homeschooling is that we can explore what works best for our child. For my struggling learners who were also behind it just wasn’t enough practice of concepts to actually master anything but that was them. For your child it might be a great fit.

    • @ninilovenana
      @ninilovenana 3 года назад +1

      @@LifeintheMundane I guess I was asking if you think that’s why it’s “behind-ish”. I’m trying to understand their purpose for it.
