Its 6 degrees in Praga. I'm coming down there soon as possible! A lot of expats thinking to have a retirement home there do need more than sun sea and history...It would be helpful to know about community life, since..as expats, most people would not have extended family. So a lively and open community would be very helpful to comment on if it exists in any of the smaller towns ..things like town parks, saints festivities, annual community events, church social programs, social centers, public sporting facilities like trails, interest clubs, town band.. in which industries locals are employed..etc.. Even with it being so beautiful it would be hard to live or vacation in a town that's half empty. Just a few comments in this direction would be so helpful. Thanks so much for your channel. Your optimistic tone and attention to interesting artistic details is indeed encouraging.
Brrruuuu that is cold, we probably get to those temperatures in January and February, but only for a few days!
Community life in Puglia is exceptionally good, we cannot be compared to large cities, but nevertheless many activities take place in each town.
Larger towns are better when it comes to shopping and restaurants.
So many gyms and sport clubs can be found in almost every town, I could go on and on.
The only vacation towns which they become totally ghost towns are the ones close to the sea, which I normally discourage people from.

What a place. This is the sort of property I would love to have in your area. Small but perfect with the roof top. Wow! and I already did a google bike ride to Santa Maria al bagno and its less than a 30 minute bike ride. There has to be hundreds of properties like this waiting. :)

Cute place- I love those floors, terrace, and location. The bathroom height would be a bit of a problem for us though since my husband is 6'7". LOL ;D I love going on house tours with you Davide. Someday you will be hunting for a place for us. ;)

Hi, Im a Brit in Salento. I love seeing the towns and cities through your eyes. You add a little something extra.
I stayed in Galatone and its has a sweet spot in my heart but for UK taste it probably won"t appeal for a large percent.
I agree Galatone, is perfectly placed for the absolutely drop dead gorgeous beaches.I mean beyond your expectations beaches! It has a range of well stocked supermarkets and the old nice shop but I called it a ghost town, missing that magical essense and holiday atmosphere.
For Uk eyes its a bit scruffy and dirty, dusty with quite a bit of rubbish and only barren green space. There's no evening activities. Zero. By 7pm its dead with just a few kids on mopeds hanging around. Just lacks some much needed heart.
Its super hot tho. Amazing weather. Its quiet and very safe tho. You can park your bike outside a shop and no one nicks it.
For access to beaches and Lecce shopping. Perfect.

I have personally purchased a large Palazzo in Galatone (playlist Palazzo Zuccala).
You are right in saying that Galatone has an amazing access to some of the best beaches, but also the 8th largest town in the province of Lecce (97 towns).
I have lived in England most of my life and I would really struggle to identify the right town in Salento for the British population.
A Relocation, retirement place, holiday home or an investment property, cover different needs and this property ticks many boxes.
This property is a rare and find in Salento.

Oh Davide I could cry. That is exactly what I want. Unfortunately I have to sell my condo in Florida first. If you haven't sold it by the time I do it, I want to land by you. The only thing I am a retired chef & want to do the kitchen over I also need a beach. A sand beach. Hate the rocks. Can you tell me how much & are there more like that if it sells. Desperately Francesca. This will be my full time home. One more thing was there an apt next door. Not that it really matters.

I am surprised by your comments and/or your need to add them here. Galatone is a great little town....as far as nightlife, sure...it doesn't have an English pub for you to, "fancy", as it's an authentic Italian town. It's beautiful, clean, has super nice people and I consider it to be one of the nicest small cities in the region. Perhaps something unpleasant happened to you while you were there and you equate it with the town. I only want to say that this young uk'er is far off the mark about this lovely, welcoming town.
Some pretty wild assumptions here. I'm not young I'm 55! It's a balanced contribution. Spent over nearly two years there. I had an amazing time in Galatone hence, "sweet spot in my heart. " English pub? pleeassse, rediculous jibe. I don't even drink and have no desire for such an abomination anywhere in Salento.
The nightlife was not "nightclubs", it was community activities. Such as the Passeggiata, (the traditional evening walk)I found Galatina more lively and more aesthetically pleasing in the main piazza, but I prefer Galatone streets. I love Nardo for it's modernism on the outskirts of centro. Galatone lacks a central spot, the main square is not pleasant at night, somewhat depressing because it's dead. For a holiday base yes absolutely, for a long term thing hmm not so sure. You find it clean I find it particularly dirty. It's my perspective and I feel international people will appreciate a rounded view.

My God - what sort of 'bathroom' is that? A horrible cupboard masquerading as a shower room without even a bidet - in Italy of all places!
You’re right, although if you feel this is not of your liking, you can use the one on the roof terrace and then wash in the shower.
