This is one of the best demonstration's i've see on RUclips for this bike. I have the Sport ver. of this (2017 same bike). and with right at 5,000 miles with only one small repair. It''s a fast bike once the CV restrictions are removed.
i really like the look/design of this scooter.especially with the open area where you place your feet. Some of the scooters look like they are built for people who are 5 feet tall (nothing wrong with that) but a lot of riders are 6 feet and taller (and the couple model of scooters that I am looking at that can are designed for larger riders are out of stock, and who knows when they will be back in).
Wish we had this moped in Europe but we dont, we have the Big Max or the Hot 50 which is the European version of the Roughhouse, but I think your one appears to be slightly better.
Where is the battery located? Just bought one from FB yesterday and the battery died ( thankfully yours and and another video helped me learn to kick start". I do want to change the battery for a new one.
This is one of the videos that helped me narrow down my choices, so thank you! I had a couple questions. I was wondering how tall the demonstrator was. I am 5’9” with bad knees, so I want to make sure my feet are mostly on the ground at a stop. Would I be ok with the regular seat, or would I have to change it out for the low profile? Also, is it completely necessary to wait until the first maintenance to derestrict? I live in NY and I was thinking of asking them to see if the dealer could do it. Can you just have it done upon sale and keep it under a certain speed until a couple hundred miles? Thank you!
If I remember correctly, Katy was no more than 5’5 tall. You could derestrict at the time of sale, but it’s not recommended by Genuine. I don’t think it’s gonna do any long-term damage personally. I don’t think the Roughhouse has a low profile seat, but I could be blanking on that while writing this. Best bet is to go to your local dealer and sit on one and see if feels comfortable and go from there. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the scooter when you get it!
@@VespaPortland Thanks so much for the info! Maybe I won’t need it, if she’s that height (although it did look like she was wearing tall shoes while riding haha). Genuine sells a low profile seat separately, on the site. Im guessing it’s probably the same or similar to the sport.
I’m 5’3 looking for a scooter, I found a roughhouse for really cheap. Do you think some one who is 5’3 without tall shoes can ride it with a low profile seat and my feet touching the floor of the scooter? I’m a college student and don’t know much about scooters
I saw this model on the second most convenient to me dealer’s site and I thought this looks more masculine than the Buddy, so I may get this instead. North Carolina is relatively lenient on their moped laws, but definitely not on COVID guidelines so I probably can’t get my permit renewed until around mid-February to be able to get the plate. Ah well I might buy the laptop I’m wanting first, I don’t need this moped too badly because I always have a ride to work and I’m planning on going overseas eventually to help the Lord spread the Gospel in His strength, not mine.
If you buy this and lose the gas cap it will cost you over $100! Because they have to replace everything with a key, and the mechanic will not be cheap, 1 gas cap will cost you well over $100 that is unheard of, and even Roughhouse themselves has acknowledged this has a bad issue, so if you buy this bike know how to work on them or it gets expensive.
I bought a 2021 genuine rough house sport about 2 months ago I put 160 miles on it it’s in mint condition comes with 2 year warranty & 1 year road assistance I’m looking to sell it because I’m moving are you interested the scooter is in Estero Florida
Nah, you’re fine. It’s just recommended to wait. Take it easy on the throttle - don’t hold it wide open for long periods of time - and you’ll be fine. Thanks for watching!
Do you guys have any of these scooters in stock right now??? I REALLY want and need one of these im close by to you guys as well but your website said youre sold out of these scooters.
From what we know about Florida there are very limited rules about riding 50cc scooters. But your best bet is to call your local Vespa dealer and ask them because they actually live there. All we really think about over here is Oregon! Thanks for watching.
@@VespaPortland thanks.. I found out I would have to register it.. but they don't go so strict on 50cc... A roughhouse is my kind of bike .. can it seat 2 people?
@jon snipe im in Ocala -here in Florida it’s just registered and drivers license- if you get anything over 50cc you need motorcycle endorsement. Been looking at getting roughhouse myself to get around town
Depends on the state you’re in. Check local laws. In Oregon and Washington you only need a drivers license. In California you need a full motorcycle endorsement. In Nevada I don’t think you need anything at all. Etc.
Howdy, Ratdog. Best best is going to head north to Portland and grab one from us. Otherwise, check genuinescooters.com for a dealer locator. There may be someone closer to you.

Yeah for the taller folks the scooter options dwindle! Good luck finding one.
This scooter is a blast to ride.

Absolutely STELLAR!!!

*2:48** "Look really cool like a Harley chopper, i guess" 🤣 🤦♂️ 😄*
😎
Add the 70 cc big bore like I did and the pickup is great you can keep up with traffic on 30 45 mph speed zones.
Sounds fun. Thanks for watching!
Did you do the upgrade yourself? So far was it worth it?

In the floorboard. You can see the rectangular panel at 2:45.

I miss my Roughhouse Sport! 😪
Well if you’re in the Portland, OR area let’s get you on another one!

The Buddy is a real small scooter as well. I've ridden them both and prefer the RH. Both bikes are very well-made machines you can't go wrong.
I can confirm that this vehicle travels much faster than 35 mph.
Haul ass!
You can hit 45 flat ground pretty well.
Do you have to mix 2 cycle oil with my gas ? Or just put straight gas in it ? Not sure
Straight gas. There’s a tank for 2 stroke oil to be filled separately.

Sorry, we aren't. You can probably sell it easily on Craigslist out there in FL. Take care.

Hi! We have one roughhouse in stock right now. It just came in a day or two ago. It is black just like in the video.
@@VespaPortland Do I have to buy it out right from you guys or would financing be available
Financing is available through Sheffield Financial. We have a video on that process too
@@VespaPortland Good to know thank you!!
Here's a pre-qualification link: prequalify.sheffieldfinancial.com/Apply/Landing?dealer=50429
so is there only crank case oil no motor oil to change ??
Still should change the motor oil every 1800 miles per the factory specification.
Rip this out gently hahaha that was funny
We’ll be here all week!
wish these were in Canada
Maybe someday!
Hi ma’am do your shipping to Louisiana state?
Hello! We technically can but it’ll be very expensive. Check genuinescooters.com to find a dealer closer to you!
What 2T oil do you recommend?
Motul 510 or 710 will be fine.
