When using Brother's iPrint&Scan app, is there a way to select resolution options when scanning? I don't see it and the default resolution is relatively low compared to what the machine can handle.
How's the noise level during operation on the 5720? Do you find it has average sound level? The 4710 while a good printer seems to print and scan with a raspy noisy sound, but does get the job done.
Hi Makinja, I apologise for the delayed reply to your query. I would advise that the noise level for any machine can be found in the manual. I will drop a link to the manual on here in moment. Thank you, The Printerbase Team
Hi again Makinja, Please follow the below link which will direct you to the manual for this machine. Full product specification and all other information will be available in this manual. support.brother.com/g/b/manuallist.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcj5720dw_us_eu_as&flang=English&type3=10014&type2=5 Thank you, The Printerbase Team
Hi Valerie, Thanks for getting in touch, To be able to use the Brother iPrint & Scan application you must be using a device, which is on the same wireless network as your printer, meaning you are unable to send jobs to the machine if it’s connected to a different wireless networks. I hope this helps. Many Thanks The Printerbase Team
I downloaded the Brother app. I configured my pc. It said the printer was online and ready. I tried to print a few documents and it does not work. Should I throw my printer and phone into the bin? LOL
I would like to be able to edit photo scans (NOT document scans) on my MFC-J1215W using iPrint&Scan. I can save JPG images to my Pictures folder and then open them later with MS Photos (but then I have to remember which are the most recent scans, and scroll through all the old scans to find them), or I can open them in either LibreOffice Draw or MS Paint, both of which seem unwieldy to work with for simple cropping, resizing & color correction. A Brother rep in live chat suggested saving them in OCR mode to make them editable, but I can't save them as JPG files that way (and I need JPGs for product images on eBay). I'd like to be able to open the scans directly in MS Photos (without having to scroll through the entire Pictures folder each time), but am having trouble finding the file path for MS Photos on my computer. I'd even be willing to try 3rd-party photo editing software (or 3rd-party scanning software with built-in basic image editing), but would prefer to keep it very simple to use and very inexpensive (or free). Any suggestions? (I'm in the USA.)
Need to zoom in, I couldn't see what your pushing. Thanks. I'd be better if you zoomed in. Also. Do you have a video on how to connect an iPhone 5s to a Brother laser printer DCP-L2540DW? If not? Could you please. Thank you.
+Nrfa Hi No videos as of yet but this article should be helpful. Apple devices use 'Airprint', to print to compatible machines and it looks like the Brother DCP-L2540DW is a compatible machine. Take a look... support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201311 We hope this helps Printerbase team.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for getting in touch. Which Brother scanner are you using? and which device are you wanting to scan to? Many thanks The Printerbase Team
It cannot access the printer. The app always tries to access the printer over "Wifi direct" although both are connected to the same Wifi network as the computer where the printer is conected. and Wifi direct always fails. I also did the stuff from the iPrint&Scan manual in the printers menu. What can I do? PS: the printer is alo shared. PPS: I also tried to connect the printer directly to Wifi, but this does no work because I don't see ma network on the printer, the printer is quite far away from the access point and probably the antenna is not as good as the one from the PC.
***** I tried it from the Samsung C115 (Galaxy K Zoom) smartphone with android 4.4.2 (KitKat). I also used the most recent version of the Brother app. I will try this IP thing the next time I come to the printer. It will probably be in a few days.
Hi Mario, thanks for getting in touch. Is this error message appearing on the printer or your phone? If it’s on the printer, have you tried any troubleshooting so far such as restarting the printer and unplugging at the power? If the issue is with your phone saving this then you may need to contact Samsung directly for assistance. I hope this helps. Thanks The Printerbase Team

What Brother website did you go to? I couldn't find it and I dislike the app. Thank you.

Can you print emails from your iphone and ipad with this app?
One of the options is to save the scans as a pdf but when I do, the pdf location is nowhere to be found

This app works well for me. I just wish I could operate it from my keyboard.
Doesn't print emails from hotmail
I also tried to use the google cloud print app. 3 or 4 hours later and I have given up. LOL
