For someone who drives those highways everyday this is great to watch. It’s amazing how many things are still recognizable. The cars were way more attractive back then.
Glad you liked it. I only have these: ruclips.net/video/o22Oa-LQF8I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/pUHvIR4bY8A/видео.html ruclips.net/video/aMnuW8m17fk/видео.html
Now I wonder, the only Memorial Cup Game played in Kitchener was game 5 between the Hamilton Red Wings and the Edmonton Oil Kings. At 3:02 the Marquee says 5th Memorial Cup Tues May 8th. This game was held in 1962, Red Wings won the cup in 5 games.
@@slammer105 I guess not all the streets went one way at same time or the white dividing line wasn't removed. Check my previous comment, looks like May 1962
Hi Les, I'm working on a documentary about one of Hamilton's beloved musical artists. We'd love to use your film 1960s Drive from Hamilton to Kitchener2 in our film. Can we chat about this? Do you have an addtional driving from Hamilton film?
Great stuff! I love seeing what these places looked like before I was born
This is one of the wildest videos I have ever watched! Thanks for posting.

The railway crossing at 1:38 was the old Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo line that crossed Hwy 8 at Bond St
Jim was in the car that day and remembers this movie being made, George, Don and Jim went to a hockey game at Kitchener Auditorium.
On the sign at 4:26, it says 65 miles to Toronto. These days it would be something like 103 kilometers.
This was amazing, thanks for sharing. Do you happen to have any more old footage of Burlington or Waterdown?
Glad you liked it.

That was fab!
Cool , love it
That's amazing footage to have. Do you know exactly what year it was filmed?
Very late 1950s or very early 1960s is my best guess. Someone may know better based on landmarks and the cars
@@slammer105 Before October 23rd 1956, looks like a two way Main street.
@@grahamcarroll4805 Hmmm. My mother (@4:05) did not emigrate to Canada until 1959. My dad came not more than 1 or 2 years before that.
