Thank you, I need to get some jewel Alocasias to see what their characteristics are. Many have leaves that point up and down, but their leaves look very thick compared to Colocasias.

The easiest test for me is to pour water on the leaves. Water does not stick to colocasias leaves, but it does to alocasias leaves

Your right about that, I noticed that when I water my garden. The Colocasias repel the water, like they are waterproof.

Not necessarily the rule. But they say alocasia leaves point ☝️☝️☝️ up and colocasia point downward

Exactly, some that I can think of that don't necessarily follow the rule are the Alocasia Black Velvet, Silver Dragon, Dragon Scale, and Cuprea.
