Awesome video, and well explained! I have the MX61. One cool trick I've leaned on is to layer the "Trance" pad underneath the piano--but then take that pad and set it to -12 (minus 1 octave). Keep the piano at 0. What this does is give the overall combo a deep rich sound; and when you play the piano notes up high, that pad will be an octave lower, and continue filling in the musical space more than if it were completely matching the high notes of the piano. Just a quick tip! #Blessings! 🎹🎶
Hey :) ! Thanks man. Glory to God .❤
All the little things matter! Achieving excellence counts! Thanks for this!🙌🏽
I love these videos, such no-nonsense presentation of really helpful, useful ideas. Top notch!
Such an awesome video! An amazing teacher! Thank you so much!!! May GOD continue to use you!!!
thank you. love the term "cloud" to describe the layer.
This was the most helpful video I’ve found! Thank you! I just got an Mx61 for church and I wanted to find a video like this to start me of!🙏👍
I have nothing else to say..... I just love the motif piano on this keyboard🔥🔥🔥🎉🚀🚀🚀👑🎉🎉🎹🎹🎶🎵
Thanks so much for taking time out to share this bro, God bless you sir...
It was fun! Same to you.
Great worship leaders are always learning
I can hear heaven here... thank you brothers...
He said ... and remember, great worship leaders are always learning!❤❤❤❤❤
You were right sir I tried it today and it sounds so ethereal
Thank you guys so much for posting these videos 😭
Awesome awesome video. A great blessing!
Great Video! Thanks for sharing
I intelligent and clear! Excellent instruction.
Awesome video. A new way to use volume.
from the thumbnail, I thought that was Kenan Thompson and was wondering why SNL would make a sketch out of this subject..but dang, he's amazing!
Dude has great touch.
Very helpful. Thanks!
Excellent!
Really inspirational and helpful my brother.
Thank you. I'm glad it helped.
LOVE IT
You didn't talk about it but I like velocity cross fade on string pads. What that means is that on the attack you hear mostly or entirely the piano sound, and then the as the piano fades you get more strings. But also the harder you hit the keys, the more piano you get and the less strings, but the softer you play, the more strings you get. You have to have a synth or keyboard that was good sweet strings. Many like the cheap Casios have very buzzy sounding strings that aren't pleasant at all. This keyboard was good, You could get a rich dreamy sounding pad.
How would one do this??
That yamaha mx88 baby! With out a computer you can layer 2 sounds, but with a computer you can layer so much more.
Tim Smith depends on the board
@@PlayCreatively
Ok. How do you mean?
Davin Hutchinson he’s of course talking about a virtual keyboard rig ala Mainstage or other virtual synth outlets. Not layering more internal keyboard sounds. 😊
@@videditorEB1 Nope with MX you can layer 16 onboard sounds but the thing is you can't edit the keyboard without actually using a computer and a software called Johnmelas or VycroMX
Very cool sounds. Great insight.
Maan you are a beyond awesome and keep striving for God because God has more in store for you I am your biggest supporter of all times love them Yamaha Motif keyboards I have a total of 8 keyboards so I know the feeling of worship
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
So do you do live gigging professional like church gigging
What he played at 2:37-2:41 sounded so nice
Bro do you know the chord progression for that??
@@irvingnovinger9306 he is probably going up tonic chords from the IV chord
cool thank you so useful men love it😊
thanks man for the lesson. I've just been finding it hard to do such layerings on a mo8. Can u help me with that please?
Thank You So Much
Thank you so much
Are, there any good plugins for a daw??
Thanks man
What song is playing the background?? Thanks
How do i use the computer to add more pads to it.
How did you connect the strings control the live control button
Nice thanks
Hello! Using the pad or layering, Is it possible to sustain a single chord all throughout a song which is a string type while playing certain chord progressions for a song? For example, the song is in key of D. I'd like to sustain that chord D with a string which is a monotone all throughout the song.
Thanks for this
Thanks for watching!
So I'm not the only one who plays easiest in C#? I learned my piano fundamentals from a black gospel player and the black keys are just second nature now...
Tyler Buckner most keyboardist I know (including myself) tend to play in the C#/Dflat scale... Not only is it easy but you tend to get a better feel off all your keys when voicing your chords
Nope! Proud key of Db player!
caramelcocoa234 I’m learning....
Here and proud of it👌🙏😃
i am a c minor and f minor mainly but i am sure you have more experience than me and i will sure try C#
What are chords and riff you played from 8.00 till ends
Whats the song in background?
Can I layer more than 2 voices?
wow thanks for all the great instructions on the key board. Even though health is extremely important for all the people with hurtful and negative words about the instructors weight, in the world we live in it is blatantly obvious the love of Jesus is not operating in your hearts. Jesus is truly love and it is so truly grievous as mortals we can not display the love because it dwells not in us. Praying for us humanity
What sustain is good with it
amen 🙌🏽
Can u layer four sounds at once?
I'd also suggest an easy way to change the dynamics of the sound (and in the case of the MX88 you certanly can) is reduce the level of that high pass filter on the pad (or a string sound). It makes ALL the difference!
yea, i agree.
How do you do that exactly?
How do you do that?
Nice
Thanks
Thank you!
Hi Wich piano and pad name is thank you
What's the music?
There's actually ways to edit each string instrument to make it sound more real. I have a moxf8 and have 3 songs on my new channel that shows what this keyboard is capable of. Check it out!
What is it Aaron‘s RUclips channel

When I saw him, I said "let me see what he is about." When I heard a few note...I thought. Yep, my new guy.
Hi bro, what is that pad you used at 4:40, thnx
Saw pad
Good one but which is better to use in worship layer or split?
Depends on what you want to go for or what the music calls for
It depends. Layering is used a lot because it's combines multiple sounds to create a unique sound or feeling. Split is used when you want different zones of the keyboard to have a different sounds. People often use split as a way to play bass in there left hand while accompanying their selves with some sort of piano in the right.
I like
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I am guilty of layering strings for the most part. But I will explore pads for layering more rather than the strings. I use a Roland Juno DS 88. Do you have experience with the pads that you like best on the Roland Juno?
Hey Robert! layering Strings to be honest it's not that bad ..I"m been doing it for 20 years now , i just Bought the same Keyboard MX 88 thats on the video a few weeks ago. Yeah I've been Exploring pads as well .
Orbit pad Sir...you can try that...
@@NeboAy. thank you! I will try!
@@eastsidechurchofthenazaren701 you're welcome..😄
Anybody know wat song he was singing??🙏🏾

Hi, what is the number/name of the pad used?
And piano sound please
Saw pad
Did I hear drop2 chords? Great voicing s too
HAHA yep!
I have a similar keyboard and i dnt like it anymore. Thank you sample libraries. 😔. So i never use my piano sounds. Great video brother
Help a fellow keyboardist bro 🙈
Thanks so much
Thank you for watching. Much appreciated.
What brand of piano and model?
Yamaha MX88
Do you not pay attention it was in the beginning?
I'm still learning this stuff but the problem I'm having is when I use the sustain pedal for the piano sounds, it also sustains the pads and the sound can really hang over and start to sound messy. Sometimes when I play the next chord, the pad is still playing the last one. What am I doing wrong?
same
I guess that depends on the board. On a Nord you can turn off the sustain for a certain sound. But most likely you Will need to look for an amplitude envelope where you can lower the release.
Sjoerd Vrooland ahhh, ok, thanks.
Pads are the best
Can you use 4 layers then?
Yea or 8 or 16 or 32. Go CRAZY!!
Hello There,,, I've been using Korg Kross 2 for minstries.
i made my own combined 6 different voices, Piano+Strings+Pad+Organ+E.Piano+Bell.
and Aaron, he is right, The first thing we should prepare, how we control the level of each voices.
also, when the pastor preach HIS words, we should connected to the pastor, so we will know the motion he bring during the sermon
You can do whatever you want, there’s no rules
The terms he used... Pads and layering... Could u elucidate us (me) on what they mean and stand for.... To an extent I understand... But....
Pads are type of synthesized sound that sustains for a long period of time. It's similar to strings, but isn't as obtrusive. Layering is just combining multiple sounds or patches together.
why wouldn't you just use MainStage?
You definitely could. This vid was just focused on how to approach a random keyboard and make it work for a service. But yeah I use mainstage as well for these things.
that piano dirtay lol. Good work otherwise haha
haha thx
This is a mix of kenan & kel / drake & josh
Where is my Transpose button...😀😀😀
Just me no where don’t use it check out my account on Instagram @lordtunes and I will show you how to play the right way for free
@@tuneunleashed I checked you but there is nothing like piano on your page just pictures... Let me keep my Transpose button... 😌😌😌
Just me smh one day they will tell you play a grand piano in D u wouldn’t be able too 😂😂😂
@@tuneunleashed i heve a Digital piano at my homestead with no Transpose button... Gues what....😀😀
@@Crownvalz what
Aaron you cute 😘💯🤪
This board is way to tingly for me. Pianos sound fake.. nord is the best
so you agree...it's not god...it's you.... who control or behance the pastor...….told the truth...:))))
Haha. Sure lol. I wouldn't say I'm necessarily controlling anyone, but music is definitely used universally as a way to influence the way ppl experience the world. If you watch a scary movie...you put scary music behind it so your eyes match your ears and give you a more complete experience. Same thing in church. If the pastor is trying to make a point that is poignant, it's my job to frame his words and the service in a way that will allow the people to hear him the way he wants to present it. So yes, I am controlling the room. And imo it's ok. but lmk what you think.
You are a very good musician. If you want to continue playing for many, many more years to come, you must shed 100 or more lbs from your frame. I am not saying this with meanness.
Sounds mean and not your place to say anything of that sort.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout I know it sounds mean, but this is not the intention. The intention is to save your health and wish you a long, productive, and fulfilling life. I am only one of 40,000 who like your artistry. I hope that you continue to do it for many decades to come.
@@WorshipLeaderHangoutIt's mean not to offer any helpful suggestion until it's too late.
Please don't be offended in any way.
I have actually told about 3 Christian brothers about their size, because of the health implications, and they were not offended, even if they were, they would have expressed it. We should bear one another's burden, and so fulfill the law of Christ...
PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED IN ANY WAY.
Only thing this dude layering is a sandwich 😂
Two sandwiches.
Extra bacon.
thats fucked up...but hilarious 🤣
Wow, how bout you go fuck yourself
Two layers pasted together is actually like a staircased marriage! His layers are dancing together!
