Lötschentaler Fasnacht 2022: Return of Tschäggätta and Guggenmusik

Every time we come to Valais, we certainly come for the gastronomy. And, every time we visit Lötschental, we enjoy the views. But, this time, we came for something uniquely Swiss and very special.
In February, the mythical Tschäggätta roam the Lötschental to chase away Winter. Their activities come to climax during the week of Fasnacht (known as Carnival elsewhere). The men of the village carry this tradition forward and to the next generations. During the Fasnacht celebrations, they mingle with the crowd and dnace to the "Guggenmusik", which is also a very Swiss tradition with a battle of the bands meets colorful costumes and a little liquid lubrication.
We stayed again at the lovely Fafleralp Hotel, which in Winter is reached from the nearest bus stop via a 4km Winter hike from Blatten, ensuring that our stay was very quiet and surrounded by other outdoor enthusiasts.

I really miss the time when we were able to enjoy wonderful Tschäggätta without obnoxious Guggenmusik. It was magical!

I have only been in Switzerland for 5 years, so don't remember such a time. Is the parade through the villages on Thursday night only Tschäggättä?
