- The discovery of this gold producing area yielded almost two ounces of gold last year. We are returning with new detecting gear after this area has seen some good storms during last summer and are hopeful of more gold nuggets.
It's always a pleasure meeting fellow prospecting RUclipsrs, this time we ran into Sam and Tanya from @FatBastardProspecting (channel with strong language warning) and camped with them for a few days, both are genuinely nice people and we enjoyed their company.

Back on the Gold > I was at an area just like that area you are at…. the gold there was coated with a dark oxide and looked almost like lead. I got home and cleaning out my finds > i almost tossed this guy in the lead scrap container… but I had a buffer wheel and gave it a rub expecting it see silver gray color of lead but saw a Gold color!!! Wow !!! I wasn’t expecting that!!! so I threw it in Acid and for a few hours and more beautiful gold !!! put it in over night and that took off 1/10 gram off the final weight of 6.3 grams !!! A beautiful ripper of AU!!!! … Now I am headed back to look for it’s buddies !!! Glad to see you both again on the Gold!!! Congratulations!!!!!

The black coating could be magnesium, worth more to collectors if it is.
The magnesium is normally a byproduct of secondary enrichment.

Nice chunky gold. Black color on that nugget might be gold made up of 10-20% copper. Black coating results from the oxidation of native copper.

Just coming back from Cue and did not have that good luck with the 7000. After 2 months very little gold (2 bits .22gram total weight) but wife done better with her 6000? I have the 12” z coil I used mainly.
Maybe you could agree if gold was around 1/2grm or the size of a shotgun pellets the 7000 would have a better chance picking it up. I certainly got plenty of those. Close around Cue there is no large gold unfortunately.
