Every day is something new to grasp. I've played acoustic guitar, percussive finger style using all 4 fingers and thumb. But I've played bass for more years than guitar and I'd never seriously considered attempting to transfer the right hand technique over to bass in all that time. Getting a little of this groove and seeing how it's done looked way out of my ability. So much of the feel of this is in the right hand technique; you just can't replicate it with the typical 2 finger picking, even with dead notes. Imagine my surprise, when actually sitting down with my bass, I found the rudiments of the right hand technique.... not so alien to my playing after all. I'm not saying I can replicate this to the level of our man Janek here (who's totally killing it), but I had a genuine moment of being able to play my bass in a completely refreshing and enjoyable new way. I'll be working on the spirit of bringing this into my bass vocabulary a lot more from now on.
Have you done a video about practicing that muting technique? It would be good to see, I think usually when you are showing some of the stuff you practice I remember the majority is finger style.
Nice! How far did you get with rising action? I like to think about the physicality of playing which brings tension and dynamics... Like ballet dancer overcoming gravity.....
Madness. Those harmonics in the fills are awesome

Nice, what a groove!!! Which drum loops are you using on this one?
Sweet grooves. Is that a Fodera or F?
