I didn't know that Johann Schmidt AKA The Red Skull is a super-villain and Nazi from Marvel Comics. He is typically portrayed as the nemesis of Captain America, i don't remember knowing that from Captain America: The First Avenger

Yes. Magneto wanted Red Skull to make Deadpool kill the heroes pestering him. Which resulted in a shit ton of Mutant heroes being killed and Mutant civilians being in danger. Just like what happened in the Old Man Logan comic.
If I remember correctly, the series is actually fairly ambiguous about what actually happens. Red Skull brainwashed Deadpool and he killed various heroes, but beyond those details, the brainwashing wrecked Pool's brain so badly that we don't even know if he killed all those heroes himself, how many or if any of the villains he killed as revenge and the state of the world. It also may or may not be a prequel to Old Man Logan.
But what's really sad is that it's then revealed that DP is still hallucinating so it's implied that the whole villain thing was just another lie and that he just finally snapped and used the villain thing as a excuse
Gwenpool is pretty brave for fighting Deadpool to wake him up because when it comes to fighting more popular characters, she doesn’t have her “immortality/plot armour” against them. She’s done it once before in her run
