I hiked this area with my Uncle Nati, back in the early 60's. He told me stories of the Underground People also Known as the Mountain Gods. They would save lost Natives especially young and the injured. They had the power to heal before they released them back to the surface world. To this day I tell that story as I play the Ancient Pueblo Anasazi flute. ~Udis~

Yes, efforts have been made to protect the site, but it isn’t enough. I go there all the time and there’s always trash somewhere, the rock climbers leave chalk stains, people still disrespect the pictographs and the rock formations, and climbers reserve spots that they don’t even use, just to keep others out of their way as they climb. I have NOTHING against climbers, but when a specific group of them communally and regularly disrespect the site and take advantage of the broken system, I have some issues, not only with the climbers, but with the administration that is supposed to protect the oasis in the desert.

You are so right. The younger degeneration will not be remembered for their trash, graffiti, tattoos, piercings, drug and alcohol abuses or lack of morality.
