I would love a Movie on the Wars of the Diadochi especially one centered around Seleucus who could be considered the Victor in many ways. He came so close to reuniting the Macedonian Empire.
@@rcmunro22 I don't know why Hollywood has neglected seleucids, they can make a wonderful web series, Seleucus was father in law of Indian king Chandragupta and Antigonus Gonatas. That also gives Netflix it's own spice to show its usual stuff.🤣 Besides Seleucus fighting a bull for Alexander will be a worthy scene to see on-screenm
@@lucymiyu5754 I think it's mostly down to being unaware of History. Your average Hollywood executive might know of Alexander but past that know nothing of the time period. Perhaps one day, some Hollywood Producer who played Rome Total War as kid will emerge & save us xDDDDD
@@rcmunro22 🤣😂Right, but I hope one day atleast Netflix will make a series on him as he was a tolerant guy to some extent, he himself married a sogdian , his sons in law were Indian and greek , he ruled persia and Syria, I mean how much multicultural can you get 🤣😂
15:53 He was truly a visionary and most competent of Alexander's successor. 😮 kudos 🎉 I guess he was a little tolerant than his contemporaries and it proved greatly in his favour.
@@ZosimusNova please don't consider them good series, all are trash with false history. In one series seleucus is in India all the time doing kitchen politics like women. 😂🤣 It's so pathetic to see kind of selucid empire reduced to a cheap villain. 😒
@@bakanani8040 Yes, that was my general impression from what I read of it. That being said, I do think it's a cool idea to have soap operas set during ancient history, rather than in the current day. I would love a series about the diadochi in the style of the BBC's I, Claudius.
@@ZosimusNova Dude do whatever but never watch Indian historical television series except Doordarshan's Chanakya. Except for this series every show has made fun of Indian and foreign kings equally and they are highly inaccurate. It's just a love story between a king and his queen and they do romantic stuff all the time 😂🤣.
@@ZosimusNova A series on Diaodachi would be a treat to watch. But selucid history is highly neglected even in west. I never knew why. They have an amazing history and also controversial ones like Macabees revolt.
Enjoying ur coverage on Selucid Empire! Always wanted to see more on one of the great inheritors of Alexander's kingdoms! Well done! Polemic Egypt would be awesome!
I am really enjoying this series, my only personal criticism would be nitpicking the visual style. I am definitely not a fan of the whole "retrowave" aesthetic in general and it feels even more at odds to combine it with classic paintings. Still, I am really glad that there are subtitles, at most I would only put the numbers in figures either on screen or on the subtitles. The American way of counting hundreds is always a bit awkward to me. Exempli gratia, whereas we would say one thousand and three hundred Americans say thirteen hundred.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm by no means an artist and I'm sure the art will be subject to change in the future, but it's also not the first priority when making my videos. I'll keep that in mind if/when it gets updated, but it won't be until at least this series is concluded. When I was doing the subtitles for the earlier episodes I was typing them by hand, as I was unaware that youtube can simply sync up a pre-written script to create subtitles, and so the numbers and some other things are a bit inconsistent across those earlier episodes. Later on most numbers should be all in numerals for anything over 100 and written out for anything under. And for what it is worth, I am not an American! Thanks again, and I'm glad you're enjoying the series!
I don't understand how this guy has not gotten a movie yet 😢

If there'sa man who deserved his own TV series, it would be Seleucus I Nikator
I believe there are at least some Indian television series about Chandragupta Maurya in which Seleucus is the villain.

Wow what an interesting character
Thanks, very interesting 😀
A close third in my top 3 Diadochi. Preceded by Antigonus Monapthalamus and Ptolemy
