I think what was so impressive Nippy took the lower part of the harmony when she was the higher soprano. She was so versatile vocally and really did what she wanted.
They were best friends and she’s been singing with Bebe and Cece since they were teens. Your absolutely right bro ❤😊
At 💗 Whitney & Cece were and always will be sisters & soulmates. Whitney and the whole Winans family were like real family for each other. Never any disrespect, rivalry and competition between them. The emotions you hear and see in this great performance are real & heartfelt.
This was to honor whitney for her work with her childrens charity which supported homeless and sick children. She also bought tiger cubs for the NYC zoo. She and Cece met at the 1986 or 87 NAACP image awards and became close friends. Whitney actually went on tour with Bebe and Cece and sang backup around 1989. For this performance, She and Cece rehearsed but it was completely different in rehearsal. She always did an amazing rehearsal and then did something completely different the live performance. Another great duet is Whitney and Mary J Blige doing Aint No Way at Divas Live. Very powerful

That's what Whitney did better than anyone she looked beautiful when she sang even when she was saaaanging. But that's true for anyone else's it was for VH1 honors honoring Whitney , she's sang solo before this, this day! Whitney was going thru it with Bobby at this time, that's why cece was personalizing the lyrics If u watch.
Cece was the one person who had a voice in Whitney's prime who could equal her and this is one of my favorite performances of all time. These women loved each other and it is obvious they were just like two kids singing together and having fun. They did record a song together, Count on Me. Cece's brother Bebe talked about missing crazy Whitney at her funeral, and how when Whitney was at the peak of her career and Bebe and Cece were getting ready go out on their first big tour, and Whitney showed up and said she was going to go out and sing backup for them, and that she'd bought everyone dresses and suits, and asked, we're all family right? Yes, we're family? Y'all broke right? Umm yeah. "Well I'm rich, and family takes care of family." He said he was sure Clive Davis her producer was probably ready to kill her that she was telling him she was going to go out and sing back up for someone else. I miss crazy Whitney too.
These two women came from such talented and musical families. The Winans are all amazing singers, I could listen to Bebe and Cece all day. Whitney came from a family with legends, her mother Cissy Houston who had a solo career and sang backup for Elvis and Aretha among others, Whitney's first cousin Dionne Warwick, Dionne's sister Dede, and Cissy and Dionne's mother Lee are also first cousins, to opera legend Leontyne Price.

No matter what any of you say about Whitney her tone is unmatched. That's why she's "The Voice" That title was more than earned because she always sang live giving it her all live without gimmicks no matter what
