it’s more of like a prioritization thing. if you get work done before u sleep, you’ll have tons of time to work. but if u sleep first, your time is already limited. sleep is priority number two (until it becomes priority number one)

Archi student from Malaysia here~ You got it soo nice~ My Uni don't provide us personal work station in our studio soo its always a first come first serve basis 🥺... Its a hassle too since you can't leave your stuff there since it might be thrown out & its not open 24/7 so I usually will work my projects at home... There's also a few times where we did group projects & my group mates became nomads moving from 1 classroom to another classroom for a few times😂 since we can't stay in 1 place & studios were full
Hi! Arcitecture student here well it's my second year student, it's 3rd semester and not trynna scare someone off but already had one breakdown month ago eh few weeks ago too. I'm trying not to freak out looking at the other ppls makes me feel motivated. but example when I try to make design I ended up doing nothing....
It looks so interesting. I am in my early fifties, and for some reason, architecture has begun to speak to me. Not sure exactly why. Some of the “designy” aspect appeal to me, as I have been looking at photographs of residential architecture built into hillside with much glass and so forth. Don’t know a thing about what might be called the primary components of the discipline - basic skills and abilities, a solid foundation - whatever - but here I am. I am not sure, but it’s calling to me for a reason I cannot articulate. If anyone cares to comment in any, please do so.
So there is a decent amount of public speaking. There is a critique after very project that’s not formal but kinda professional. And then there are critiques at every mid point of a project which are more chill and casual. There are usually 3-4 projects a semester. With presentations you usually present infront of 20 -35 people. Now publicly speaking is something you can learn. Not everyone in architecture is a public speaker and can do it well. One of my friends from my last studio really hated public speaking and would get really anxious before her presentations. She would also speak softly which didn’t help either. However our studio professor made sure to help her feel comfortable and she has improved a lot. If you really want to do architecture I wouldn’t let public speaking hold you back because it’s something you can definitely overcome 💪🏾
I’m studying architecture this fall! Do you recommend a macbook or a microsoft laptop for online modeling? I’m struggling to pick one since I’ve never really used the programs before
I recommend a Microsoft, if you get a Mac you would have to get bootcamp because the programs are better suited for widows and that kinda defeats the purpose of a Mac
Dude watching this video made me so tired and sleepy cause I felt those all nighters 😂😭 #hardwork I loved this videooooo. Starting arch this fall in RU Toronto.

The only difference is that in first year we don’t use softwares and we had to do all the models at home. The no sleep nights are the same and the others classes too.

I want to be a architect but I have a question. Are we also going to be doing like crazy calculations and small designs all the time? Math is not my thing, but I will say that the designing aspect and building really interests me into wanting to be a architect.
We haven’t once used math in architecture studio since I started architecture school.
