Bunkai Shirotaru no kon sho

These are 4 bunkai of the bo kata Shirotaru no kon sho from the system of Ryu Kyu Kobujutsu of Inoue Motokatsu. The bunkai were developed by my students during a training and refined in several months training them. On the 4th of november 2023 I had the opportunity to show them on the ‘Day of Kobujutsu Holland’ in Den Haag together with my fellow sensei Ronald Willems. In the kata are many ‘sunakake’ techniques. In these bunkai you can find four different applications of this technique among some parts from the kata.

Nice affirmative techniques. Good to see a koryu style with grips offset from the center of the bo to utilize the reach of the weapon. I'd love to see and learn more about this Kobujutsu. Will be studying your kata videos. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your feedback. Using the length of the bo with the right taisabaki makes this a challenging experience.
