@Kether Everett I say it this way. This War of Mine isn't your everyday game. In this game it's more about immersion, trying to imagine world and how you would live in it during war as a civilian, rather than a fun gameplay.
One fact about this game. Every single portrait you see is a photo of a one of developers **or** his/her family. Also TWoM and Spec Ops: The Line are titles that everyone should play at least once because both of those games share a different view on war.
Should you buy it? It is indeed quite unique in terms of gameplay and how it makes you care for each character and the tough decision it obligates you to make Is it easy to play? Yes, very simple indeed(even to master but there is when the game lose its charm) If you buy this game and don't like it, consider the offers the developers have, specially in the form of art dlcs that give every cent towards foundations that help people that actually live in warzones, if you need to have a game that you don't even want to touch in your steam library, which you surely have, make it be this one, you may give enough for a plate of food to someone who really needs it, someone who was left with nothing, someone who never asked for it. This is not an exclamation or an obligation, this is a proposition. The dlc is one dollar, it is not much, it may be a lot depending of where you live, but it could a huge help for someone, anyway I am sure most of you had it for free in an giveaway some years ago as I did, just check it out
spam or double click when dueling if you just click once, your character will just walk. when backstabbing(hiding) u just need one click. combat is also depend on character, top tier are: roman, arica and boris. they can one hit backstab even you're not hiding and just walking behind an enemy.
Thanks for your vids. I still play this game when I can't think of what else to play. It's a very successful game, it really made me feel things. I was sad when I realized the elderly couple died cus I took their medication. I was angry that we got robbed while I was gone scavenging. I was happy when I finaly found some cigarettes for sale so my one guy would shut the hell up. And I was depressed when bad luck on top of bad luck just brought us all down so hard. I like games like this, because there is actual motivation for the endless loot grind. You feel you need to find more, the risk becomes worth it. Very sucessful writing. Your impact is evident on the environment and on NPCs, and your decisions matter long-term. For an indy game I got for $15 5 years ago, its pretty great.
Also guns are OP with roman or a police officer character when they are in top condition! Have them on a well fed and content condition and theyll be doing aims instantly and they seem to be doing one shot headshots since i just click and they die instantly! Ive layed with normal conditions on the construction site and the enemy took four to five shots so im sure thats how it is! Roman is better since he doesnt lose his content condition and i killed everyone available on the MAP in the custom 80days i just saved up food till day before i go into a massacre-spree and equipped full armor and a rifle and get my all the needed ammo on the dead bodies! And since all my characters are all bieng well fed then theyre all content except for bruno so i take some a days rest after two mass-murder and ive also tested it with the shotgun and in close combat it can still insta-kill! Though i dunno about the pistol... if the enemy gets too close i use an axe which takes two to three hits to kill
Excellent video! I loved the game back when it was just the classic characters, and the early days of the little ones, but now I’m considering picking it back up with the new DLC, to witness some more war crimes, and watch everyone’s sadness, hunger, illness, and wounds rise! Also, hearing Gruppa Krovi at the end of the video was so awesome, it’d be awesome if it were in the game too, but it’d break the immersion a bit, and might make it seem less like Sarajevo and more like Donbas.
Great game. I am in a play through of my own mod with the Final Cut. It is called Queens II and is supposed to be a rendition of a New York City campaign in Queens County during a ten times worse pandemic campaign. I have Roman, Katia and Marko... along with my own creation Jacob a Black NYC police officer. Jacob is good with guns. I have had Roman wipe out the thugs in the Warehouse and get both of the Snipers at the Construction site. Roman got wasted by the thugs in the Church as I did not expect the thugs this time around and he got ambushed with just a shotgun. He got killed. I then sent in Jacob with an AK, helmet and vest while watching him waste the three thugs. I then sent in Marko to scavenge as he can take the heaviest load. You have to scavenge the killed thugs during the same round you kill them or the drop offs they have will disappear. I must say I had Roman waste the store owner while leaving his father to starve so everyone was sad. Roman just sat and smoked. He also beat up Marko once. I let them just trade and scavenge for three rounds until everyone settled down. Everyone is always happy when thugs are wasted. Katia also trades with the trader as she is the best; I also have her go on all jaunts to help the neighbors. A very good game. Anyone know how many soldiers there are at the Army camp...or at the Airport. I want to send Jacob to "visit" with his AK-47. Thanks the Queens II mod.
This game was a puzzle game with different scenarios requiring different build orders to survive. Much like Frostpunk, there is only one correct way to play every map and some locations are best avoided entirely due to contentment penalties. That said it was a good puzzle game with a lot of different scenarios so, in the end, I felt it was worth it. There's just zero replayability.
hello there, thank you very much for this great review. really well done, i really want to play this game now :-) one question tho: you basically made the review of the complete game + dlcs.... but a lot of websites refer to this "Final Cut" as the "Last Update" to this game.... so is the original game included in the final cut or do i need to acquire it beforehand? thank you
Actually, the game has no introduction/tutorial. Imagine if this is the first game every played in your life. It is somewhat overwhelming and I had my head scratching about how stealing and healing works here.
I enjoyed this when it first came out. I'm glad to revisit it again with the Final Cut edition. Shame how art imitates life with the tragedy currently going on in Ukraine.
I saw this game on steam maybe 3 Days back, on sale for I think 7 dollars? I have a shot memory. But I was looking for a game to waste money on (I just bought Fallout NV and Hoi4) something. And god was it worth it.
Only dev for this game is that there isnt final cut for phones. I really enjoy it playing on my ipad, laying in my bad relaxed and going around scavenging and surviveing.
Actually I found out that if you die during the night, all you gave to do is close the game and restart and it will put you back at the beginning of the day before you died
Livia was a disappointing addition to the survivor cast. She's basically a poor man's Bruno. The levels integrated from the DLC stories, on the other hand, were quite worthwhile additions to the game. What captivated me the most wasn't the anti-war message and sappy emotional consequences of your actions, but the incredibly versatile inventory and item economy. Thanks to trade, anything can be worth something, and your limited arsenal dictates which items you should get first. If you have trouble with supplies, just slaughter bandits and raid them. With enough analysis, you can determine the enemy's patrol patterns and thus get the jump on them and kill them instantly.
Big ass discount right now! And its a donation to the Red Cross of Ukraine!

Prey for Russia, it's NATO and all political agenda although the media like to have it all one sided.
I played this game as a Russian soldier, I killed all the children.
Remember Playing this game back in December 2014, good
memories...
Discovered this gem two years later. Really nice indeed!
WolFFinE Lol wtf are you doing here zps pro
i have this game in my phone, i still play this

They need to make more survival games like this this game was fun as fuck
Hungarian music, polish dev team... and serbian agression on sarsjevo... this is quality.
I heard somane singing in polish inside of radio in this game.
I still play this game. Almost 10 years old now, nuff said

Both games feel like different sides of the same coin
I actually thought the Portraits in TWoM are the actual Survivors from the Sarajevo Siege

I didn't know they did that. You just made a sale for them my friend, well said.
@@denver3739 this was years ago so, i have no idea if they are still working with that foundation, give it a look
Kino was a nice addition to this video, keep up the good work
I like this game, but i can never figure out the combat system. Do you spam the button? Or do you just click once and wait?
TacticalBananas you can spam it, sometimes they’ll ask for mercy, you’ll have a choice you keep going or not

Musical group KINO? Where did you get it?
how you mean, were I know it from?
@@ESCalation Yep. It is Russian group and it is rare to hear it on western channels.

Thanks for the Review!, that was really helpful for me, now i know what i should do to survive much longer in this game.
Does anyone know when we get the rest of the DLCs on console we have the little ones but not the rest
The song you picked for the start of the video... Excellent choice.
thank you l!
What is the song at the beginning also great vid 🎉@@ESCalation

@David AZ The wiki is not part of the game tho. The wiki is just what fans wrote. The game should probably be good on its own merits.
7 years later and there's still no games like that
great review
