thanks for the clear demo, but practically, there are three more screws (under HD and near from the KB rebons) have to be removed to be able to remove the cover.... just saying
I'm planning on getting the slightly bigger version of this, the 7710 with i7, AMD FirePro W5170m. Just wondering if it could serve as well for gaming purposes such as GTA 5 for instance. Thanks
soundoflenses, Thanks for this.. Off-topic, but do you know where the 2 memory slots that are on the top-side, under the keyboard are? I watched your video several times and I couldn't see them.
Hi - are the top 2 slots shown on the left side about 2:47 (under your hand)? Sorry - I was originally expecting the 2 slots to be back-to-back, but it looks like the top-side ones are stacked, slightly offset under that black sheet. Is that correct? So I only have to get the keyboard off to get to them? Do you think I can just move the keyboad and not have to remove the cables to the keyboard... I hate those flat cables!
FYI, I was able to make the upgrade. To answer my own question: No, it doesn't look like you can get to the RAM without disconnecting the keyboard flat cables (4 of them). The reason is that there keyboard has tabs at the top that go into slots in the laptop body, so you have to left the keyboard out from the side where the space bar is, and you won't be able to do that unless the cables are relleased. Thanks!
I'm interested in buying one of this, but I can't find a crucial information : Some people on several forums talk about a 2nd drive (which makes possible a 1SSD + HDD configuration, but on Dell product page, there is only 1 slot available. Can anyone give me the information about the number of slots for drives plz ? thx !
+Blackdocks one SATA HDD slot and one M.2 SSD slot are present. these are not exclusive, can coexist. www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/19/precision-m7510-workstation/Prec7510_OM-v1/Technical-specification?guid=GUID-C8ED19D1-97BB-441C-B0D7-49FD9D5ED312&lang=en-us
+soundoflenses I finally found out ! thx ! the clue is to add a M.2 ssd on slot 1 to unlock the 2nd slot choice on Dell store if anyone is interested in the futur ;)

If one has the Firepro variant, does it have the exact same MXM slot to perform a GPU upgrade to a Quadro GPU? Also, does anyone have the part numbers for these GPU modules? It would be great to have them for future reference.
Soldered CPU and only MXM 3A, absolutely junk at this price tag imao my Clevo P150 has CPU socket for 3rd gen Intel and one MXM slot for MXM 3B and yet it is 15 inch.
If it is a MXM 3B then yes, its going to be tricky to screw it in place if its a MXM 3A, as far as I understand there two version of that card the A and the B version. Clevo P150 only has screw support for MXM 3B but I know you can get an extender for A on eBay.
buahahaha CPU is soldered to the board.... is somebody in dell bang his head against the wall to many times? Even in m6600, m6700, m6800 you could SIMPLY replace it. LOL what an "upgrade" is that...
only one heat pipe on the graphics - very strange. the 7710 has a much more logical, more macbook-esque configuration in this respect. i have an older version of this laptop and the fans while like a b*tch seemingly for no reason from time to time even when there is no load. looks like the poor cooling design tradition continues with this generation.
soundoflenses GPU might be able to tolerate higher temperature ( depending on what frequency it runs at ) and isn't on all the time ( by default the system uses the integrated graphics in CPU ) but even so, it seems unbalanced for the reason you mention.
Seems to be a non issue. I have one with a 6820HQ CPU and M2000M GPU. I can run Crysis 3 with GPU Utilization at 99% for an hour and temps would hover between 76 to 82 Celsius and I don't think there is any throttling going on at the high end. My ambient temp is 23 degrees Celsius.
PERFECT VIDEO! no horrible music, no background noise, just simple clear demonstration! thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
after 7 years ....that video helped me a lot, thanks!
I keep tapping the screws but they won't come out?
Hilarious! lol
I wonder if this guy knows that youtube allows talking. Talking has been around for as long as I can remember. lol
Keep tapping. It takes sometime but will work.

Thanks for video sharing....

You better off with MSI
What is the best card that I can upgrade to? M2200M?
If the graphics card is removed Will it still work very fine using only the Intel.??
Does this laptop is upgradable with a GTX 1060 MXM ?? thanks
Tks, this help me to prepare thermal pad beside thermal paste
Where can you find ifo regarding slots, like MXM-A and MXM-B? I was thinking to get P3000M, but now I am not sure that it will fit.
The slot is an MXM-A and supports Quadro M2000M and with some drivers it will support an M2200
Years late... What did you ever figure out. I want the best GPU for this laptop... I got one for free.
@@michaeldunn5788 Was a while ago. Sold it 3 yeasr ago. Got one of 2000 but not from Dell, did not fit. Needs to be exactly from Dell.
Great video. Thanks!
Спасибо большое, я узнал🤝
Can I upgrade on the M7510 from a FirePro W5170M to Quadro M2000M?
David S. Should be possible, my 7510 came with a m2000m card preinstalled
Any advise on where one could purchase a mxm replacement card for this laptop?
great video!
soundoflenses,
Thanks for this..

is 4 slots model. so up to 64 GB. please watch 2:40 - 2:45.

Is this able to take a higher video card such as the m5000m or upcoming 1080m GPU?
no. it have MXM-A slot. M3000M/M4000M/M5000M are MXM-B. I don't know a 1080M size.
I heard it draws much less power, so at the bare minimum I hope we get the 1070m or something. Great video though.

Gate 95 I have had no real issues gaming on what I got. It's definitely a work horse.
You've got the same model as the one in the video, with an i7 and W5170m AMD Gpu ?
Are there any decent graphics card upgrade for the precision 7510? i have a Quadro m2000m but it kinda meh, anything i can upgrade to?
Did you ever find anything out about this?
Quadro M3000M
Quadro M4000M
Quadro M5000M
@@Tidewater500 These cards are all incompatible. The Dell 7510 takes mxm 3.0a cards. The ones you have listed are type b. They are too large.
@@tcrittSo.... Can you list or link us to something that will work?
The only option you have that will probably work with no issues is the M2200M. It's a slight upgrade over the M2000M.
Where is the password jumper located on the system board?
is non-volatile maybe.
A late reply but pull the bios battery, main battery and unplug power for a half hour, clear bios settings and password
Does this laptop support another HD?
It can have 2 drives.
1 M.2 SSD Slot that can support PCIE.... and 1 a 2.5" SATA drive

I agree with your thought. processor is 45 W and have 2 copper heat pipes, GPU is 55 W but 1 copper heat pipe. that seems inefficient.

Does this laptop support GTX 965m Ti? (MXM 3.0a)
Yes it is MXM 3.0A it will take any MXM 3.0A cards
I actually bought the GTX 965m Ti from Ebay and after Nvidia driver inf-mod it works like a charm. =)
