Wow, that was truly amazing. Kim you are an inspiration for us rookies-so thank you. Because of you, I will keep trying my hand at sculpting and this product. And one day built myself a Kim's Dragon. Thank you again...
Had been waiting to finish this-un for a while Leo. Our very good friend Eric set his time-lapse camera up every day while Kim was making her dragon over in Seattle. Hope you liked it.
This just makes me giddy! I've been playing with paper mache clay off and on for a few years to make Halloween props because it's so cheap and easy to use. Downside was always durability outdoors. You just solved that problem!
wow, just came across your videos! I've been making all kinds of creatures and fairies for my up coming wedding. You have given me some great ideas! You do some amazing work! Thank you for sharing!
Question: will the price go down in the future as production grows? Right now it's reasonable for professional artists to buy, but for as a person who does art as a hobby and would like to make outdoor sculptures for my own use I could never dream of being able to afford it. Please answer as I would really love to use your product ❤️
Hi beatlebabe1969 we are starting to build a network of certified artist teachers who will eventually be offering public classes locally across the country. We imagine this will be a the most economical entry point for keen hobby artists. Thanks for the comment - make sure you like our Facebook page to be kept up date on what we are doing!
Enjoy the creations and your talent. I found your channel about a month ago and am inspired by each project, especially those that are fantasy based. I recently purchased a trial pack and looking forward to trying the medium. One request: Please add to your videos how much supplies you used in Pal Tiya and other items. This will aid me in know how much to order when planning my purchases. My first large project will be a similar dragon. How many standard bags of Pal Tiya did this dragon sculpture take? What size and how heavy was the sculpture after curing? Blessings and Best Wishes.
The initial 1/4 inch structure coat took 2 1/2 days all together. We only had a small 6 litre mixer to run the batches through. The texture coat was done on and off over several weeks based on the schedules of the volunteers. The joy of working with this method and material is the ability to stop and resume as needed. A good rule of thumb is that an area two hand spans in size takes two hours to complete to a final finish in a heavy complex texture. Smooth areas are a *lot* faster. Hi Kim, and the Pal Tiya team , Just curious, I do a lot of building using EPS Foam, I was wondering how well this product sticks to foam? or should I wrap the piece in foil to give it more tooth to hold the Pal Tiya? BTW I love this dragon!!
Hi Tony, Thanks for the kind words and sorry for the late reply! You need a key to hold onto so crumpled foil would work best. Also the foil will not suck any moisture from the material while it cures whereas EPS foam might.
caught ya prop shops video. very awesome time lapse and amazing sculpt. so once ya had it bulked out how many hours did it take to sculpt with your awesome product?
Thanks Julius, The Renton dragon took 3 days to do in foil. The wings added to the complexity. For comparison, a typical human figure can be done in a day. The initial 1/4 inch structure coat took 2 1/2 days all together. We only had a small 6 liter mixer to run the batches through. The texture coat was done on and off over several weeks based on the schedules of the volunteers. Would it be possible to make a fountain sculpture from this, such as a creature with water pouring from its mouth, or would the consistent water damage it? (Other than obvious erosion over a long time)
I really want to know how heavy this material is , lets say you make a human head all around whats its weight compared to a real human head. I want it to be light as foam or plastic but doubt it
I'm really fascinated and interested in the clay but I can't order it right now. Will I still be able to order it around the new year or is it a limited time offer?
Thanks Nate, We are looking run the first batch in Jan/early Feb 2017. So if you time it right, there is a chance you'll get in on the first batch. What kinds of things would you be keen to make with Pal Tiya Premium??
Pal Tiya I would be looking to make giant fantasy creatures like ogres, goblins, dragons and all that. They are just so much fun to make. Thank you for informing me on the time for ordering. I will try to order it as soon as I can :)
A Fantastic Dragon Brienne who was made by Kim Beaton and a community in Renton, Seattle, Washington!
You have no idea how much I want this in my room...
I would spend an unreasonable amount of money on two of these large dragons sculptures, just to spite people who said they don't exist.
Wow, that was truly amazing. Kim you are an inspiration for us rookies-so thank you. Because of you, I will keep trying my hand at sculpting and this product. And one day built myself a Kim's Dragon. Thank you again...
Great to hear Debbie :)
Now that's something you don't see everyday, birth of a Dragon :)
Hee hee...fun huh?

Awesome sculpture, I am curious as to how many bags you ended using for this brilliant build?
I think we used around 22 large bags to build her.
I want one of these so bad
Omg I so want the dragon! 😍😍😍

Hi Decaynine...have a look under Water in our FAQ's www.paltiya.com/faqs.html
I really want to know how heavy this material is , lets say you make a human head all around whats its weight compared to a real human head.
I want it to be light as foam or plastic but doubt it
It effectively turns stone, so heavy...of course a shrunken head might be lighter....:)
How much would it cost me if you would make a similar one for me?
I'm really fascinated and interested in the clay but I can't order it right now. Will I still be able to order it around the new year or is it a limited time offer?
