definitely isnt similar to Malayalam or telugu. Any similarity to them would be due to the sanskrit loan vocabulary they contain (since nepali is of sanskrit origin), not because of a shared root.
That's the problem when Americans "can't"pronounce someone's name. The truth is they won't spend the time of day to pronounce someone's name if their life depended on it. SMH. Americans want culture of all kinds, but won't take enough time to learn culture. No one should ever have to change their names because of language barrier.
It'sYourGirlBrianca Covers She probably found it easier to just go by Promise, rather than trying to teach every person she met how to say it. That’s more logical than shaming and assuming Americans forced otherwise.
@@Sceryn95 bro they make Asian movie or drama remakes Cuz people are fucking bored to read subtitles of the original shows or can't even read English to save their lives. Most Americans think they're entitled and won't try to step out for their "comfort zone" no matter what
It is hard when the name involves a sound we don't make or don't consciously make in English. I know in Portuguese for example the name João has a nasally sound that's very hard to understand how to make for people who don't speak Portuguese. So it's easier to change the name to John. We should make an effort to try to say people's names. But we have a very dry sounding language I feel like with simple sounds.
@@JamesMiller-fp4vn The original poster never said that they thought that she looked Vietnamese? They just said "for some reason", so I suggested that the reason could have been because of her husband/married name.

SO WEIRD, some words are the same as in bangla. sundar, akh, antim, bideshi, mera, dhannabad etc hindi words.. wow.. 👏
Armyyyyy, lol sorry I had to... 😂
@@rasmalailover69 hello 🙈💜💜💜
definitely isnt similar to Malayalam or telugu. Any similarity to them would be due to the sanskrit loan vocabulary they contain (since nepali is of sanskrit origin), not because of a shared root.
@Jade Schmidt hiya 😊💜💜💜
lol sounds like hindi ??? LMAO.. theres nothing similar. n remember both hindi n nepali are originated from sanskrit
Most Americans think they're entitled and won't try to step out for their "comfort zone" no matter what
You're right
It is hard when the name involves a sound we don't make or don't consciously make in English. I know in Portuguese for example the name João has a nasally sound that's very hard to understand how to make for people who don't speak Portuguese. So it's easier to change the name to John. We should make an effort to try to say people's names. But we have a very dry sounding language I feel like with simple sounds.
It'sYourGirlBrianca Covers shut up
Wow nepali youtuber with over 5 million subscribers... amazing.jay nepal😀😀🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Yuh I'm from Nepal
I’m from Nepal too! Lol I understand every word she’s saying :)
Aah same here
Well done. U just did a GREAT job.
I love how South Asia shares so many similarities in language ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah well bc all of these language are derived from Sanskrit
nepal's language sounds indonesian to me
@@erika.434 wow that's weird bc many loanwords she said are from a couple of Indian languages, ahh anyways languages are some how connected.
Kaye • it is somewhat like bahasa
@@erika.434 it's not the same sound~ I'm malay and indonesian language is a form of Malay language. And i know my language well. It's different, duh~
Your culture and language is so beautiful 😍. This look is stunning!
For some reason I always thought you were Vietnamese 😅
Possibly because her husband is Vietnamese and her married name (Phan) is Vietnamese
@@cvb79 not like her marrying a Vietnamese person would change her physical looks
@@JamesMiller-fp4vn The original poster never said that they thought that she looked Vietnamese? They just said "for some reason", so I suggested that the reason could have been because of her husband/married name.
@@cvb79 yeah exactly, i dont see how being married to someone from a different country to you would physically make you look like them :?
@@JamesMiller-fp4vn ...nobody has said that? Nobody mentioned her appearance?
I am an Indian and was able to understand some word beacause nepali is a little bit similar to my language garhwali which is a language of northern state of India Uttarakhand.
You are right bro nepali is also a Indo Aryan pahadi language

Yeah, I know bengali and some of the words/phrases were the same but then most was a little different. Having said that, I actually understood more of Promise than I do of any Bollywood film so I guess nepali is closer to bengali that hindi
Levi Devadeb no she's talking about Hindi
@Levi Devadeb They're talking about languages which are very similar ad share some words in common.
Levi Devadeb words in Bangla, Hindi, and Nepali sound and mean similar things so that’s all we’re saying
I speak Bangla and learned Hindi through movies so throughout the whole video, I was able to understands bits and pieces without the subtitles
