After applying the same film, I get hazing streaks everywhere. I followed the simple procedure. Clean surface, apply the film, heat it up, remove protective layer. I heat it up again to see if streaks could be removed, but no. Does this go away?
I would love to add this to my Detail shop , how much should I be charging to Tint a set of headlights ? Where can I buy ? I purchased a roll yesterday from Amazon hope it’s the real stuff lol
Thank you for making this video. I just watched it and I’m gonna order 2X 7 foot rolls off of Amazon, and I’m gonna be laying this over the Chrome on my front grill of my 2012 fusion sport. That’s a really good option for spending $700 on a dark chrome sport grill when I can make a custom and how I want it.
@@DonslifeI just had this put on by a shop and it's cloudy or fogging on half of the light. I've waited 5 days and it's still there . Love your opinion on what they did wrong . They used a 70% isopropyl before hand . Can you tell me what would cause the foggy look .
I bought and installed this tint on my truck. The color is definitely purple, so it's not just your car's other wrap making it look that way. I was very impressed at how the tint stretches and shrinks with heat, and I got the hang of working it pretty quick. This is my first attempt at using film like this. Unfortunately I was more unimpressed with how foggy the headlight looked afterwards. With the headlights on, it has a similar haze and hot spot on the lens itself as one of those older sun yellowed lens you see running around on. My lights are very clear without the tint and just have minimal scratches. In addition, there definitely is a loss of brightness of the light when you look at the hot spot on the garage wall compared to an un-tinted lens. In the end I decided to remove it.
I'm having the same issue. Looks great when lights are off. When they are on you see glue streaks. Like a haze. You can see streaks in the direction that I squeegeed it . I used my normal plastic squeegee with felt wrapped around the edge. Hopefully this will eventually dry clear. These are brand new lenses that I installed so they are perfectly clear and no defects.
Thanks for sharing. I am a detailer and have traditionally been putting on 8.5ml PPF om lights and taillights as part of my full PPF package. As you already know PPF is exactly what it is and is designed to stick to paint not plastic, lights or taillights. 3 in 10 customers do return for fixing lifts especially on the taillights with grooves, ridges and irregular and unsmooth contoured surfaces. The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser taillights are s nightmare and I’ve often considered just protecting witu Ceramic costing only. I recently started looking into the Vvivid head/taillights tints as this completed my BlackEdition package. Which is the best headlight/tailgate tint for best adhesion on difficult tailgates with protruding ridges and why would this wrap do better than a. PPF? Is it thinner , more stretchy and contours better?
Hi there! I like the VViViD product for its dry application and ease of use. Some tailights are near impossible and the film will likely fail in recesses, but on most headlights and tailights, I don't think you can go wrong. They have a few films so I recommend getting some samples to try. I've used a couple different ones on my BMW tailights and a cop pulled me over and said he'd give me a ticket if they were tinted, but since he thought they were like that from factory, he let me go. They were 100% tinted! He just couldn't tell. I can't tell you which film is best since I haven't tried them all. I will say that they are more conformable than ppf films I have worked with, but also thinner.
Great video, very informative. Looking to put this on my 2020 540xi. How is the light output at night as far as driving? Also how noticeable is the purple shade in person. Thank you again!
I tried vvivid old dark smoke tint and though it looked great ,at night it was terrible! does the new tint ( in dark smoke) have more light transparency?
@@RC-bx6cn yeah. I tried it and it drastically reduced the light to where it was barely noticeable. I have the smoked hologram hex now and absolutely love it and the light reduction is barely noticeable
Came here to see if I needed soapy water, guess I should have open the box and looked at their instructions. Where did you find the colored roundels? I've been looking for some not really wanting the vinyl overlays but if that's what you have I may try them.

I didn’t have that problem with any parts of the roll I was using
I have the same issue...
I tried 3 different rolls, tried super light and light, both leaves the same streaks.
@@Faisalmajdalz Did you ever figure out how to prevent this? i have the same issue..
@@Pus1 nope, and it doesn't go away overtime, i got used to it... I noticed that it's less noticeable with darker tint.
Did you get it from Amazon? Or from the website? It's possible you got counterfeit
I tried this and it leaves stretching marks.. it's weird.. previous one didn't do that.. anyone noticing that ?
Wow, that tent stayed flat. The role I have use his wound so tight.. hard to keep it straight lol.

Don’t need water and soap to apply the tint ?
No sir! This is a dry application tint (like most vinyl wraps)
@@Donslife can knifeless tape cut this tint ? thanks
Would you say the light smoke tint is like 35% tint? 🤔
Considering on getting this and 35% is the color I fell will best go with my truck.
I think light might be a little lighter, like 50%

I haven’t been able to try their new Dark Smoke. They claim it allows more light transmission 🤷🏻♂️

VViViD brand my friend. Light smoke was used on the headlight

it's extremely thick and hard to form. I got the same stuff but darker. I'd give it maybe a 3/10. fucking garbage.
I disagree. It is tougher to work with than some, but it lasts
What’s the best material or brand for headlights my friend??
