I loved SOA because of Jax's story. Due to the dilemma he faces throughout the series. Wanting to be and do good and always ending up doing bad for the sake of that good. The constant adoration and contempt for his father and his legacy. The fact that he had to walk in his father's shoes was a huge burden for him. Only at the end did he realize the violence that is necessary to achieve peace, and he was unable to deal with it. Only when he realized this was he able to truly love his father and finally realize what it means to be a father.
