I do this all the time. Search the web for songs with chords and lyrics and go from there. I've used the music books with tab notations as well, which was helpful in my early days but I find myself using those 'tabs' less and less...I trust my own ear more and more. Great video Hal and very helpful!
Thanks! Great video. I bought my first OS15B in the 70s and it fell apart after a few decades. We just bought a used one (actually two) and reinforced on per your “anchors away” tutorial.I’m a subscriber and will be watching for your videos. Thanks.
I've been casually messing around with my autoharp for a while and I keep coming across songs I really like but the chord might be an F# or something like that. Is my only option modifying the chord bars?
Sometimes doing it in another key makes it so you have all the buttons you need...but if you're singing that means you have to be able to sing it in whatever key you are playing in. Sometimes you have to sub in a different chord so you can keep it where your voice lays. If you have a 21 chord realize that Sometimes the autoharp company has given you some chords you'll almost never use and then slighted you some you turn out to need more often but don't have. Once you been playing for awhile you start seeing the obvious needed adjustments. And yes you can change them and yes I made videos on how to do it. It's part of playing. Some people have more than 1 autoharp to cover these contingencies! It's part of the learning!
How wonderful. Your lessons have been helping me. Just made flashcards.
