Going to school might be difficult for some students of Sindangan Elementary School in Southern Leyte, but this did not hinder them from snagging the second spot of the best performing schools in the National Achievement Test in 2006, from its 78th place the prior year. In this documentary by Sandra Aguinaldo, she found out how the school is hands-on to monitor their students' performances to maintain their studious attitude in class.

I also lived a similar life. My school ranked 2nd on the HS NATs back in 2005. We also had to walk hours to get to and fro school. We had no computers, and most of us relied on a set of outdated encyclopedia from our library.I am thankful I was able to experience that.
I am now a struggling law student in MNL and my ultimate goal is to help people like them. Poverty can be crippling, but we should capitalize on education for it is the greatest equalizer.

This documentary made me cry. I have learned a lot of great values upon watching this, I have realized that I'm an ungrateful b*tch. This has motivated me to do well on my studies and be grateful to all privileges I have. Kakatuwa lang na bata pa lang sila may direction na yung pananaw nila sa buhay and to all the teachers na nasa documentary thank you sa pagtuturo at pagtatyaga ( yung mga teachers ko kasi before ang bubully ). Sana may part 2 para malaman kung ano na ang ginagawa nila ngayon sa buhay.

School ug Cagbungalon Elementary School..paningkamot ug ampo kanunay para makab-ot ninyo ang inyong mga pangadoy sa kinabuhi..

Kudos to this teacher on her method of teaching. The children enjoy the learning process. I think western elementary schools should adapt this method of discipline. This is how it was in the past in the small town where I grew up. My mother was a grade one teacher and a very good one also. The children from small barrios walked long distance also to go to school and sometimes, the children who had to cross the river to get to school asked my mother if they can stay overnight with us during high tide. Children in small towns are models in behavior. Now that I see these kids it reminds me of how it was in the past and I'm so glad to see that these children of today still maintain their dreams, still very disciplined.
