I was there that night and I sat in my seat and cried like a baby. I never thought I'd see and hear 'MY' life story ever told on a Broadway stage in the form of a brilliant piece of American Musical Theater!!!
I love that the Stage Management team is spontaneously cueing the follow-spot operator to pick-up cast members as MRJ speaks about them. That's classy.
Jaquel is balling tears sooo hard in that thank you speech. Theatre, especially watching the underdogs that finally make it, is the best way to escape the crap in the world.
I love Jaquel! So much emotion & so deserving!!!
YES!!! UNDERDOGS OF THEATER SHINING!!!
Awesome that MRJ thanked the four Understudies. AMAZING work to, not just keep the curtain up, but to excel while doing so!
We love MRJ & understudies!
Thanks for posting this. I’m so proud and happy for Michael.
Congratulations Michael! I can’t wait to see it. So proud of you.
The leading man is Tremendous.

See it as soon as you can! It's spectacular!!
I love that he thanked the understudies.
💯!!!
Jaquel Spivey and that cast are sooooooooo good.
Yessssss!!!! Can’t get over their talent!
I just saw it, and wow! Just wow! It defies typical Broadway shows. It so real, raw and vulnerable.
A freakin Pulitzer prize!!
Jacquel is a superstar!
And I can’t stop singing, “memory song”.
Wow, just wow!
Yes, yes, yes!!!
I am just so happy
Sameeeee!!!
