I remember when I was trying to hunt the perfect gba device, and I basically gave up, but now I'm going to snag this handheld, thanks again for the find techdweeb!
This review tempts me very much. I was actually considering the sp because of the nostalgia and it's travel friendly form factor, but now I may have to consider which one to pick. Also, the screen is the main reason I love to play GBA games on my RGB30! I still marvel at 3x perfect interger scaling GBA games on it, they look incredible! (and I honestly don't find black bars on top and bottom as off putting as on the sides, for some weird reason). Thanks for the dweebing Mr video.
For real what were you waiting for I subbed after the first video, hus presentation is great informative, entertaining, and very well edited, he's doing a great job I think he had been on about a year or so when I subbed, I was shopping for a handheld emulation system and his videos helped me so much. Glad to have more join the Dweeb family.
I love your videos, thanks to you I bought a Zazzbizzle, that I run with Knulli that I store in phone holster, all of this due to your videos. Thanks Mr. Dweeb.
Oh man, I just can't get enough of the "Pow Kitty" bit :) I know it's simple and kinda dumb, but damn, it get puts a smile on my face every single time :)
The V10 and RG35xx SP arrived at the same time at my doorstep. I load GBA roms exclusively on both. I can't stop playing this while my SP remains almost untouched.
This is my fav device of the year. The controls / buttons are just so so nice... And the triggers (after a bit of RG35XX SP tape mod fixing to quiet them down cause yeah they're quite clicky, just put tape over the microswitches) feel amazing too. Mister Dweeb, if you want to open it up be careful even with a plastic guitar pick, it will scratch / dent the plastic and it's pretty hard to remove at first but yeah it gets easier after a bit. The V10 is so comfy to hold and the overall look of it is just lovely. I even ordered a purple one cause I love it so much. For around 40$ you get an amazing GBA machine with extra consoles to play. Definitely need interpolation shaders for Gameboy / SNES and the likes cause yeah it looks pretty ruff without. But yeah this will do very well while I wait for a SP clone with these buttons :)) Perfect review, cheers ! (By the way, do you have a BMO shoulder bag ? I saw one on Aliexpress for like 7 bucks and thought about you)
I'm in love with my Flipzizzle, and waiting anxiously for my V10 to arrive... And now that you mentioned that BMO bag, I thought 'bout buying one for myself on AliExpress... But it's a no-no for a 40+ guy that works in an emergency room 😢
lol you didnt have the og game gear and tv tuner! sega consoles got really ridiculous with tons of addons and it looked exactly like that with a coat hanger sticking out of the game gear
I'm leaning towards getting this for my son. He enjoys playing on handhelds, but he is still rough on them since he is young. I dont have to worry about him breaking at that price point.
Since I found this channel I enjoy watching TechDweeb videos more than playing games and giving the fact that I started watching them just lately...I predict longer gaming brake 😂 BTW my kids (5&8) love Your intro!
❤ Hi, Dweed, I love your vibrant video footages! By the way there actually is an old but still strong device that's even better suited for GBA - it's Anbernic RG351P (especially if we talk about a purple version with white buttons) It also has 480x320p screen, and that screen is slightly better than this one. The same processor and ram 🐏. It has HDMI and two sticks, volume wheel, double stereo speakers, bigger battery, wi-fi chip inside and it's more comfortable as it is horizontal. Don't you have one?
This video was well-timed. I started Metroid Fusion again on my Miyoo, and my mom gave me some diet A&W root beer and now I’m hooked on it. Good stuff!
Looks like such a neat little device. If the Anbernic RG35XXSP didn't exist, I'd probably have gone for this little cutie. Looks perfect for GBA games, as you said. Love your reviews and videos. 💙
My favorite handheld is my RG-28xx. It is super small but powerful playing Dreamcast & PSP. I also just bought the new RG-Cube which is small but very powerful playing PS2 and Gamecube with no problem
The scaling is nice for GBA but too many compromises. Can't complain at the price, but it's hard for me to justify buying any retro device without built in WiFi at this point for box art scraping or retro achievements. And I think the RG35XXSP is pretty damn good for GBA games and is my current go to for that and other systems like SNES and NES.
No one is spending all day scraping boxart. Once you have the games you want, you do that once. This can be easily done with an inexpensive wifi adapter. As for retro acheivements, I honestly hate the concept of achievements in game. A good chunk of them are fluff that involves just playing the game. Honestly, beating the game and getting all in game collectibles are the only 2 real achievements. Back in the day, bragging rights were for your real friends at school, not random strangers on the internet.
The headphone issue you might be having is with microphone inputs. If the headphone jack on the handheld is only for stereo headphones ones with mics built in won’t work properly. You can test this by slowly pulling out the jack from the socket and if you get stereo at a really specific point with no problems that’s…your… problem….
if you use the included rg35xx GBA SP bezel on the flipsizzle, you also get perfect 2x integer scaling! then it just doesn't use the entire available screen space. but it still looks like it does
Your intro for this rivals your intro for the original RG35XX ("Is this AWESOME handheld the new 'Mini'? | RG35XX Review"). I would subscribe again if that one didn't push me over the edge to subscribe to you in the first place.
I love the Game Boy Advance as well, but I'm having trouble getting excited about this. The stubby design looks like it would be comfortable only if you had mouse hands. I want one of those Anbernic ARCs for the responsive D-pad, but until I can afford one, I'll slum with my DataFrog and Vita. (The latter's hard to beat for PSP games, my other handheld love.)
OK, TD. You almost convinced me to buy it just because of the GBA. But it lacks Wi-Fi, and that's kind of essential for me, to be able to RetroAchievements. That said, I'll stick with my definitive GBA for now, Miyoo Mini Plus.
I’ve been loving mine. I went with the snes color way but man the burgundy buttons are so nice. I might have to pick up another. I have modded mine a bit with some cloth tape on the clicky buttons and a piece of black tape to stop the front power light from showing. I have many consoles like you and I find myself grabbing this little guy for Gameboy Advance just the same. If you own a Gameboy advance the dpad on the v10 is bigger but feels the same and the face buttons are the same size with similar button travel.
HEY!! I'm not old and tired, I'm tired and old!! GET OFF MY LAWN 🙃😂 As I have the RP35XXSP, I might pass on this...but then again, I love GBA and the cost is great so......geez, I don't NEED another one, I don't NEED another one....sigh...great review Mr. Dweeb!
I didn’t get the Anbernic Cube because of the screen, I can’t believe it was didn’t have a 4:3 screen, it would be perfect! Hopefully we’ll be seeing such a beast in the near future? 🤞🏻
I actually kinda love the cheap mono speaker. It sounds like I remember it 😅 well, more than any other retro handheld. Same goes for the screen quality, it reminds me of how I remember it, but better! 💚
Very nice, but i enjoy to play GBA games on my RG35XX Plus with a nice touch of custom res + fancy overlay + LCD screen filter to make my gameplay pleasant and fun.
one handled for each system (or something like 2-3 systems) is much better than have one-for-all (Odin 2…. for example). It is the right way for our passion
Would you recommend it to someone that has a miyoo mini plus? I like the idea of the slightly more spread out controls but do you think that alone is worth the buy?
Hard to say. It doesn't do much more than the MM+, and the MM+ is a great device so you shouldn't feel like you need to bail on that, however if you want PERFECT gba then this is much nicer than the MM+ for that. It's also pretty cheap so it has that goin for it.
I really like the GBA reminiscent format including such a large screen in comparison to traditional GBA screen siize. I have a miyoo mini that works great for GBA and even has Mario 64, unfortunately without analog sticks it plays ok but not responsive enough to pass all the level challenges. While this features an even bigger screen, without analog sticks I don't think this is the right handheld to replace my miyoo. I'm still looking for an ideal wide screen psp style handheld that has good or great analog sticks, and at least good compatibility with PSP, PS2, game cube and Xbox emulator capabilities. I'm aware every handheld has its ups and downs, I've gotten several over the past year. The first one I tried was the data frog 2000 that looks like a super Nintendo controller with a wide format screen set in the center. It was ok until it stopped charging. :/ After watching videos on what to replace that with led me to you and a review of the miyoo mini which I bought and do not regret. Still I would like to find a good wife format emulator system for PSP PS2 game cube and Xbox capabilities. I bought a knock off PSP for a friend for his birthday but it doesn't have that good of a game library and the games on it end with super Nintendo. He was happy with it for what it does but since it doesn't really have that much processing power PS1 and PSP games are just not on the system. I did get a different handheld at the same time that looks like a knock off of the rog ally, it does have some PSP game's, as we'll as PS1, unfortunately only a couple PSP games and PS1 games actually play well and are in English. At around 50 it's pretty good but the battery is kinda iffy, doesn't change right or more to the point it doesn't have a charge indicator light so you can't tell when it's fully charged.
Can you do a list of the most ergonomic handhelds? I’m an older gamer that has been around since these “retro” games were new. I tried to love the RG35XXSP but I just couldnt handle the cramped layout and lack or ergonomics. What’s the most comfortable handheld you have?
My Odroid Go Advance continues to be my favorite handheld for integer-scaled GBA, but I'd absolutely agree that it kinda sucks build quality-wise out of the box. I had to do a *lot* of modding to make it feel as good as I made it.
i am testing this one and a rg cube with gba games: rg cube visuals 3.4 inch 3x integer scale and this V10 3.5 inch 2x integer scale (niche less bright). The point is that rg cube is much more comfortable (maybe the top one in the market) and i agree with retrocorps: when black bars are up and down (and not on the sides) i don’t even see them, if i have my hands close to the vertical limits of the screen…. so, for gba games, RG cube is better to me…
What do you recommend for ps2, psp and game cube. I was thinking about just getting a steam deck and be done with the searching. But its pretty expensive.
I buy all these systems whole sale and resell them. I recently had a bunch of these V10's in stock and I was surprised to see the demand for these is super super low. I mean the r36s's I'm selling were outselling the V10 easily 5 to 1. I was really surprised the demand was so low, it's a great little system that I can't believe powkiddy made because powkiddy usually makes garbage. Infact this was the first powkiddy I have ever attempted to sell. I think unfortunately for this device the name powkiddy just scares people away. It's undeserved with this system though, it's actually really good. Way better then say Miyoo A30, R36S, maybe even the Miyoo mini.
Are we forgetting sbout the Anbernic 351p? Comfier controls and perfect GBA resolution. To be honest though I cant see me moving from the SP at the moment. The clamshell is just too convenient.
Having the sexy music merge into the introduction was a dope transition
I was hoping for a sexy version of the outro music. It would work so well.
Is the music from 7 Sins the raunchy videogame?
I was thinking this exact same thing for the opening and ending! I actually don't skip them

You've seen the billboard advising you to get screened for cancer if you used to play games on a DMG Game Boy, right? Now THAT made me feel old.

"It's kind of old and tired... like you." Damn, TechDweeb. I've never felt more seen.

Sorry about that 😬
That Powkiddy gag never gets old!
i've sent it to many people

"I ate too much watermelon and gave myself a tummy ache"
I love this channel.
Watermelon has more fructose than almost anything else on the planet. It's really rough for people with FODMAP sensitivity. The "F" is for fructose.
We need more of that innocent purity on RUclips. And the rest of life.
Everything that sucks "is not a big deal." This channel has turned into a love letter to each device to keep them coming.
If it was a big deal to me I would say so.

Got the RG35XXH about a month ago and have been wanting the v10 for GBA...got it earlier today for $36. Can't wait!
That was a perfect introduction.
The V10 and RG35xx SP arrived at the same time at my doorstep. I load GBA roms exclusively on both. I can't stop playing this while my SP remains almost untouched.
So the V10 is better than the RG35xx SP?
The SP has been my PS1 device mostly...so this makes some sense to me.

Atari 2600 looks real good and plays real good on the 405V!!!!!
Rg351p is also a very good option for GBA . i just bought one
0:50 Maybe there should be a survey, that helps us choose which device is right for every individual.
I love how GBA looks on the Odin 2 mini screen with the dot matrix filter. So crispy
Definitely!
Your videos are worth the wait
Are we forgetting sbout the Anbernic 351p? Comfier controls and perfect GBA resolution. To be honest though I cant see me moving from the SP at the moment. The clamshell is just too convenient.
which one do you prefer between this and the miyoo mini plus? And which of the two do you believe that's more resistant and durable?
Wait... You don't have the RG351P?
To this day it's THE perfect GBA machine because of it's 1 to 1 screen!!!
