@@Flugmorph Estos albumes tienen muy buena musica , y tanto para la banda como para gran parte de sus seguidores , son reconocidos como los albumes mas debiles , por ello creo que ese disco es necesario una reedicion de ellos y que los hagan sonar como ellos ( la banda ) quiere ; Host y Believe in Nothing son albumes donde realmente se podria apreciar una regrabacion y que suenen con el peso necesario de guitarra , bajo y bateria , y sin tanta electronica y samplers . Tanto a Hos como Believe in Nothing es necesario darles una mano , no asi a Icon . Es mi opinion . Saludos \m/
@@Flugmorph Para mi re-edicion es la posibilidad de tomar algo ya hecho y rehacerlo para obtener un mejor resultdo . Eso tiene sentido cuando haz hecho un trabajo y crees que necesita una mejora , no asi cuando haz hecho un trabajo y este resulto bueno . De todos los albumes de Paradise Lost yo seleccionaria para re-edicion los que mas lo necesitan , tomaría Host y Believe in Nothing y les daria un sonido mas orientado al metal , similar a One Second o Symbol of Life . Lookin pictures while listening to music coming out of my Technics.That was the way back then. Wow it was a whole new world.

It isn't the same,.but it's close. Even the tuning remained original 👍
It feels raspier and a bit lower than the original, but there is 30 years between both, and shitloads of gigs, albums since that day.

If he use this voice occasionally with growls and gothic voice, that will be great. I really like Obsidian, but I miss sometimes "Icon" voice or FDU-DUS/Tragic Idol era. Mix is the best for them.

I was VERY skeptical but this sounds great. By far my favorite vocal style from Nick - still a bit growly but with a little bit of melody already shining through. I‘m glad he was able to recreate it. Would love to hear that style on a new album. :-)

PL are in the best shape right now, doing death growls, semi distorted vocals and cleans. An album with all three is the best. Would be extremely disappointing if they did an album with just one vocal style now.
He's used that style in modern times, especially on Tragic Idol.

@@svenjeschke5025 still very similiar. He was probably trying to get the vocals as close as possible to the original. Either way. We can all agree, Nick is a fantastic vocalist who has alot of vocal styles at his disposal. But I agree, the classic Icon/Draconian era is probably his most signature style.

This is excellent! PL are literally in the best shape they've ever been in right now. I'd be extremely disappointed if they ever do an album using only one vocal style now. Hearing Nick's death growl, his Hetfield-esq Icon/Faith style as well as his more sombre, melancholic, gothic cleans is a joy! And utilising this talent provides the perfect blend of vocal instrumentation. His ability to do all makes PL a more dynamic band now more than ever. Immense!

That very up-front lead guitar sound actually reminds me more of the leads on Gothic. Overall, very faithful to the original!
yeah. Gothic, Shades of God and Icon were musically quite close to each others. It was the production and sound that made the difference..
Such an iconic band, and iconic album..it has one of the finest places in my musical iconostasis.

Crispier guitar tone, darker vocals. Sounds great but the original is still top rated in my heart. 1993 Icon is such a work of art.

Wow! Sounds incredible. I think PL should record a new PL album with Nick's vocals like here in this re-recorded version.
When he sings live in this manner, it’s very difficult for him. His roar sounds very decent at concerts, but when he sings songs from Shades of God, Icon, Draconian Times and others where he sings in this manner, you can see how hard it is for him.
In general, speaking about myself, I like it better when he growls.

I really don't have any faith in re-recordings. But I read about this and I know how much the 30th means for this album. Record studios are just jealous. PL is the true green monster. 🥳🥳🥳
I spent some time with the band a couple of weeks ago in Ireland. Spoke to Greg and Nick about the rerecordings, and they both indicated that they're remaining as faithful as possibly to the original album.
