There's plenty of music from both sides which use the same melody. For example, Irish Molly O, while not a Republican tune, is played by some Republican bands and uses the same melody as The Sash.
Heard over the sea to skye being played which as you probably know is about bonny Prince Charlie first time I have heard that played by a loyalist band.
