Malls are not as popular as they once were. Several reasons for that, mostly people hanging out in them with nothing better to do and no money. Also, the ever present criminal element, on-line shopping, etc. I used to love Lafayette Square back in the day, (80's), when it was thriving, we all seen how it slowly died due to the issues I mentioned already. 🙁
The circle center mall messed up the whole down town flow. Closing off Washington Street as a two-way main road blew our crossroads of America gig. The outdoor mall will be just putting lip stick on a pig. Good luck with that.
You want to know why because of all the ridiculous construction going on around there and all the ridiculous road closings and Lane closings. You can't get around downtown especially if they have events going on. Nobody wants to go downtown then you get nowhere. I wonder if other states have this much construction going on in their downtown area. The road construction and building construction sometimes on the same damn street
I remember how fun that top floor was the first year it was open!

And the Redline claims another victim!

No malls all across America are closing because of crime and gangs acting like they own the place.
Has nothing to do with construction
they dont, i went to chicago last week and their downtown is like 50 times larger than ours and way better
Gee... Wonder why?
🤔
Move to Carmel. They'll do a lot better
Until they move in the neighborhood .
