Big up the all the Godmothers of the scene DJ Flight, DJ Rap, DJ Kemistry (RIP) & DJ Storm, DJ Tamsin, DJ Peewee, DJ Wildchild, DJ Fallout, DJ Lady Siras, DJ Law, DJ Lady Flava, DJ Lady Wipeout, DJ Dazee, DJ Lady A, MC Tali, MC Chickaboo, Lady MC, MC Lady Dyer, MC Lady ST, MC Lady Sweetie...
Yes big up to them all and to the female agents who represented and many of whom still do represent some of the biggest named DJs in our scene, Sarah, Tania, Caroline, Tracy, Sonia and more 💯🙏🏾❤️
U forgetting DJ Tamsin, she was there from the beginning.. Orange, Roast, Breakfast Club..
@@negroantonio28 Oh yeah and Peewee! Big up!!
By this you would have thought they never existed. This sound just gets abused continuously to fit into people's new ventures and agendas.
Don't forget DJ Fallout!
I remember DJ Flight and the Reckless Crew on Rinse FM 100.3, with MC Chigga D (MC Bruza), and, MC Lethal (Triple Threat). Good times locking into Rinse back then.
Would be so good to have the London Something archives in podcast format to listen during commutes etc
I always just lock the screen and put the phone in my pocket which essentially makes it a podcast kindof.
@@chriswftdjstops playing as soon as I lock the screen unfortunately
Aww man. I think it's a YT premium feature. If you watch YT regularly I would recommend as you can also download videos and no ad's.
But the screen lock feature is my favourite.
I hardly ever watch videos; I listen to them most of the time instead.
@@chriswftdjtotally agree. RUclips Premium is worth it if you use it every day like I do. I wouldn't go back to regular RUclips
We’re planning to extract the audio for other platforms at some point. Thanks @chriswftdj and @rorz999 for offering an alternative solution 🙏🏾💯❤️
Yes Flight! It takes guts to speak up and create change. Keep doing what you’re doing. RESPECT 👏🏾👊🏾
Loved this interview and nice to get a mention. DJ Flight forever !!🎵🎼🎶
Big RESPECT to DJ Flight. 👊🏿
Fantastic story! Lovely soul. Had the pleasure of meeting her at the DJ mag awards last year. Keep flying 😁
It's always a good day when a new London Something pod drops! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you ☺️
Really lovely chat. Hopefully those that didn’t quite get what the EQ50 movement is about and why it’s so important are now open and understand ❤️
No I am not.. it just sounds like a bring. Would be nice if more people regardless of there sex or colour just locked themselves away and pushed them boundaries which is what jungle dnb as an actual sound was ever all about.
@@bigmoneysteppa 💁🏾
@@bigmoneysteppa yeah right!?! Cause god forbid people with years of experience the scene offer their first hand knowledge and advice to people working hard trying to be a part of it.
What a lovely woman. Love these interviews, my favourite. ❤🎉
Glad you’re enjoying them and thank you for the support 🙏🏾
I would like to know story from Bryan Gee.
I think he's a very funny guy)
I miss Next Chapter. What an intelligent woman ❤
Always loved Flights flavours, her early 1Xtra shows were awsome
The Next Chapter, so much support for what the alternative side of DNB were doing, and even I had a tune played on her show so was always tuned. Good times
Love dis . Her story and more. Much love and respect. 🇯🇲🏴
Nice one Ron. In a very male-dominant scene it's good see that finally there are less prejudices surrounding it. Keep 'em coming!
Looking forward to this. Thanks for your work; nothing I like more than a dnb podcast/interview
Thanks for the support 🙏🏾
yessssss yes good to see miss flight on here!!!!! amazing dj and lynchpin of the scene blessings and gratitude!!!
Excellent Interview… Such A Modest An Humble Lady .. Really Nice To Get An Insight To Her History … Long May Her Success Continue .. And These Podcasts Also .. Big Upz 🙂👏
Big up the mighty Flighty. Used to regularly tune in for aher show on 1xtra in the early noughts. Played all the classy dnb during a period when there was a hell of a lot of really poor music coming from the scene.
Big up Flight, locked into her 1xtra show every week religiously. Legend and comes across as a lovely human. Great interview 🏆
so good to see real participants being immortalized in this format
Lol Ron, " your considerablly younger than I thought" 😂 you look amazing dj flight, great interview once again big up djRon ❤
Massive Love & Respek to Dj Flight.. I hope you are playing @ SunandBass next month!
Enjoying the podcasts ! 🔥 this is maybe the best insight I have got of the origin of this music and people involved. Also them speaking about it , this music or genre I been hooked since I heard it years ago. Also checked your shows recent great shows, thanks DJ Ron , music coming from London is so good and UK.
Big love Flight ❤, thank you for all you do 🫶🏽
Ron is right about people not caring about the gender that made a track. I didn’t know Rap and Dazee were female until I saw an article in a DJ magazine, and I bought their music consistently through the 90’s.
Big up the empress of the jungle.
This is brilliant, i know flight as an artist, but not as a person ive always respected her as an artist, but know i know a bit about her as a person i respect and like her a bit more, big up flight, big up ron, junglist till i die ❤
I love this show, such a great format and incredible interview skills putting all the guests whilst getting to know about their backgrounds.
Ron - I was on Stratford Overground station a few weeks back and am pretty sure I heard you chatting to someone waiting for a train. I wanted to come up and say hello but my dog did it’s business on the platform and then my train pulled up.🙄😩🤣Missed the opportunity. Amazing podcast and look forward to each episode. 👍
Good news to everyone who might not be aware what she's up to these days and says how amazing Flight's shows and podcasts were back in the days and they miss her: she's got a brand new monthly residency on Kool FM and other sets from her pop up here and there always. ;)
Big up Ron and Flight great interview 👍
Legend
Can’t wait for this one!
Big ups Flight. Absolute Legend.

Saw Flight at Critical Sounds Summer party a few weeks ago She was absolutely amazing.& So friendly & good she is a local girl too .. The first female DJ I saw in the nineties was DJ Rap ,but just so good now there are so many female Dnb djs absolutely killing it on the scene.
Very good interview big up sis❤
flight = high priestess
worse thing 1xtra ever did was cut her show
I dont really agree with the position that female DJs are being discriminated against. If anything the current situation is they are being over promoted. Any young good looking female DJ can end up with huge social media followings overnight, just based on looks. Not the quality of the music. This is a doubled edged sword for women, because it also means that when they get older this following will stop. DJ Storm is still one of the best DNB DJs and whats her social media following?
Also look at what happens when these female only events or similar happen. The quality of the line up drops. Check the Edinburgh International Festival Contemporary music line up this year, its almost entirely female as a new woman has taken over and compared to previous years its simply not as good, because less females are into music and lower quality artists are being booked to tick a diversity box. Another issue is the me too movement which if anything has had the same knock on effect in music as it has in other business. Men are avoiding working with females because a false accusation made on social media can destroy a career. This seems to be happening disproportionally towards black male artists, mainly from white female DJs who surprise surprise are their competition for slots. What is also strange about some of the complaints females are making about the scene is that there seems to be an expectation of safe working environments in dance music. When was it ever safe? Its always had major involvement of drugs and gangsters and anyone regardless of criminal background can get involved, theres no HR dept. It makes little sense to think the people involved will be anything other that what they are. I agreed with Rons initial point, guys who are there for the music dont care if its a male or female. The problem is that the identity politics and feminism thing which has been shown to be about female special treatment is an instant turn off for guys who lets face it make 80 to 90% of the DNB crowd. This idea that line ups should be 50/50 when its not even a 50/50 crowd split is nonsense, as is the idea that somehow "women are better because they have to work harder". They arent and they dont.
i agree
Its what you dont know that is the real story. Quiet determination and focus💪🩷
