My father is deaf and I am from Nepal where the resources for deaf community is so limited. Everytime there's a movie or a show that tells the story of deaf people it just makes my heart full, the inclusion and the representation that is so rare. And it's beautiful how this trailer was released today on International Sign Language Day.
Hello Venisha didi.. didnt know about this. How do you recite your poems to him ? I wish he could listen your poems. Can you recite your poems in sign language for him?
Claire E Sorry to but in but I'm pretty sure the person that said that meant no disrespect whatsoever. I think they meant to say "I wish he could hear your words as you wrote them". At least that's what I think they wanted to convey but it just wasn't worded correctly. I also see where you're coming from as well though. Again I apologize for butting in. Peace and Love.
Im currently on ASL II & the fact that I knew some of the words & sentences without looking at the subtitles makes me feel more happier about it because sign language is such a beautiful language that it should be taught more & heard from. It is because AGBell foundation has purposely been working to ban ASL from our people since the 1800s, after publishing a eugenics paper saying he feared us becoming a powerful inferior Deaf race. I’m so EXCITED!!
Just finished episode 1 and man, my ASL is not even CLOSE to as good as I thought it was.
But if it gives me 0.00000001% more of a chance with Dalton, I will keep going.
I'm excited to watch!

Hey there, I'm Deaf from South Africa.
So excited!! Reminds me of Switched at Birth. I loved that show.
Me too and I love Switched at Birth
this will be way better because it's real =]
@@emilymathews4972 Yes. I don't usually like reality TV but it's great they will show real deaf people's lives. 😊
Bruh, lowkey hype seeing some representation
HEYYYY THAT´S *Cheyenna Clearbrook* :o
This saddened me. Not sure why the negative sticks more than the positive. I’m happy that Deaf Culture is more on spotlight. But at 1:19, the dude asking girl “why mouthing”. And her response “not deaf enough”. That’s the story of my life for the last 10 years. I’m late deafened. Don’t fit in with hearing and Deaf made sure I knew that I’m not welcomed there. So yes, though I’m around folk, I still feel alone.
i checked out this college and it is amazing. plus adding a little drama. ohhh this gonna be interesting, plus there are more girls than boys
