My faith in the american public wanes a bit more every couple of days.
That bit was "spot on" 🤣
Women have a lower center of gravity and a different pelvic shape. If it's different enough that injuries are different in a crash then it's different enough to test.
We already specifically test for children and infants, so a tiny bit of "extra" testing doesn't seem all that difficult.
What IS going to be a problem, and why they probably have been reluctant to do the testing, is the cost of making improvements once those new tests reveal problems that need fixing in already certified vehicles.
As is typical in America is that it's not sexism as much as it's just corporate greed. If they had tested women first we'd see the same issues with getting new testing using male crash test dummies...
