- Scenes animated by Chinese-American animator Cy Young (杨左匋, 1897-1964). He was the very first animator in China, then he moved to U.S and became the head of Disney's Effects Department. He played a significant role in the development of early effects animation and abstract animation. He was also a master at animating graceful waterbirds, like cranes and storks.
Notice some scenes that he was involved in this reel were co-animated with some other animators.

As fun as wacky crazy animation is, it must be nice to be able to do things like this. Very pretty and amazing skills.
A true romantic in the world of classic animation. He and Shinji Hashimoto are among my favorite animators of all time. Such abstract realism.
I think his animation style is fantastic and romantic, but there is reality.(Especially birds that were drawn by him)
Thanks for uploading great reel.
+松永壮平 all good styles come from reality
Incredible command of form and perspective
i think cy young was a bit different to the other animators like marc davis, ollie johnston, frank thomas, milt kahl, ward kimball, john lounsbery, eric larson, wolfgang reitherman and les clark he was the chinese-american nationality born in suzhou jiangsu in qing china on march 8th 1897 and died on january 16th 1964 in los angeles california in usa
Thank you for making and sharing this
This some of greatest hand drawn animation EVER created, Especially 6:05
I don't think this guy gets enough attention, even by those who study classic animators.
This person has done all of Disney's most gorgeous scenes! I especially love the scene in Make Mine Music (which would have been great in Fantasia).
Aside from the main films featured here, there's also his own personal effort 'Mendelssohn's Spring Song", produced in Brewster Color, though for years it was thought to have been lost (as only a B&W version had existed otherwise).

The first song in the beginning sounded like if it came from the show The Legend of Korra.
Beautiful editing! Well done

u2b:ruclips.net/video/hqamdiSHlx8/видео.html”
