I was stationed at Camp Flores mid 90’s and it was paradise then without any of the improvements made to on base life… Awesome assignment and very very cool ranges

# 3 I have to agree is a con. I can't for the life of me understand why someone would want to get off work and go home to an area with mostly military members as your neighbors. To each their own.

my dad cursed me i ship to boot camp in a week and i being trained and being stationed in Pendleton. and i already had 10 years in California i don't need anymore.

I am a child that grew up in Oceanside California. There are no benefits to being a Marine in Camp Pendleton other than the fact that yes the Marines of the base they are the only ones worth dating they are the only dating pool. Yeah you could go to San Diego but what if you don’t have a car? You can go up to LA but what if you don’t have a car? It requires a car you are homebound unless you take a bus or meet local chick that has a car because I can guarantee there was nothing more for transportation and this was back in the 90s. I have at most respect for marines despite the fact that means my ass rides in navy equipment sir they were the most respectful and the nicest and most perfect boyfriends except for the few that weren’t. Because you have to remember you are a dead center of everything that is wrong with society. And there are those that will embrace it they will love it they will sell it and they will profit from it. I know the best and the worst of the Marines I truly do so don’t try to sell the entire landscape of camp Pendleton as being something that is the best of everything because it’s not. It never will be because you know what? It was made by man.So it doesn’t matter what amenities they offer because all the amenities are on main side most of them don’t get to live with those amenities there’s no pool hall upPast the circle mentee offramp. Everything is on mainside sew on less you are POG you don’t get to benefit for shit. The only thing you can benefit from if you’re not a Pogue is finding your way down to the beach and meeting the local chick that has an affinity for Marines and does the driving. I have lived the other side of Camp Hamilton and deli try to pretend it’s this beautiful world the ones up past mainside has no real ability to doAnything and don’t try to sell it unless you were station main side you are going to be where you’re going to be unless you want to take a bus for hours on end. You are lying.

I was stationed at pendleton. Brought my wife out from Indiana. We absolutely loved it. Even today, 13 years later, she says pendleton was the best place we ever lived.
