    This is a really good review thanks very much. i have always been put off by the high cost of the areogarden. Though here in the UK the IDoo is on offer at less than half the areogarden cost. Looking at your comparison the waterflow seems the only advantage over the IDoo. But this is outweighed by the extra light high and lower light (to stop stretching). The warning buzzer and the cost. Plus the Idoo pods seem more re-useable than the Areogarden. Thanks so much this has backed up my purchase.

    This is a very good review - I already own Aerogarden and had successful growing and harvest experience so wanted to add additional one to it but its price is now too high - so I was forced to look for another hydroponic system and came across iDoo & was wondering it it would be as good as Aerogarden! And your video just answered all the questions I had and now I'm on my way to order iDoo for my second hydroponic system!
    Thank you so much for such an informative video of yours! =)

    This was a great comprehensive comparison. I had heard the idoo light was not as bright and some have said the plants didn’t grow as well. It doesn’t seem you had that problem. But I tell you... if that thing started beeping like that in the middle of the night because the water is low.... wow. That’s kind of a dealbreaker.

    That's a very interesting comparison. I made my own hydroponic system (with a water pump, aquarium tubes and gallon ice cream container) and the purpose of the water pump is to deliver water to the top - and have the water trickle down the roots to keep it wet, but seeing how the iDOO only has a pump but doesn't really circulate the water, I think the iDOO is a rip off.

    • @SeamusHarper1234
      @SeamusHarper1234 2 года назад +1

      These systems are deep water cultures, you don't need to circulate the water. You have to put oxygen into the water. This can be achived by the iDOO system or by using an airpump with an airstone, simmilar to the aquarium airstones. The results speak for themself. By the way, any systen that size is a propagation system in my book, you need to transplant into bigger systems after 1-3 weeks to achive good yields.

    Hi, thanks for your videos, they are very good getting more information about hydroponic systems. I have both of them, and the good think I like of Idoo is the extendable light post, but I think the led grow lights are not good as the aerogarden, besides the water system as you mentioned. I just bought the CRZDEAL in Amazon for $58 after coupon and I can tell you this one is exactly like the Aerogarden Harvest.

    • @aerogardenexperiments
      @aerogardenexperiments  2 года назад +1

      No, I don't measure it. If I use Aerogarden nutrients, it comes with a lot of buffer and that works out well mostly. I use Maxi Gro for short crops and change water frequently, that also balances the pH decently.

    Both have their good and bad. I have 5 idoo and 1 aerogarden (daughter got me hooked when she gave me this one for Christmas). But I'll definitely invest in another aerogarden soon. My question is, where did you get the stand to put all if them on? I've been searching and searching on Amazon for one, purchased something that I thought was promising but ended up being a dud. I need something so that I can set them all up in one space. Thanks!

    Another very informative video. Thank you so much.
    I have a question. What is the advantage of having so many AeroGardens rather having, for example, an iHarvest of a Gardyn system? Asking because if you add up all your AeroGardens you could probably have two or three iHarvest or Gardyns for what you've paid for all those AeroGardens. I've noticed that a lot of gardeners are doing what you're doing. Therefore, as a complete newbie I am very curious to know why you prefer to have several little AG's rather than a larger unit. I just got my first AG Bounty last week so forgive me if the answer should be obvious. Perhaps later in my hydroponic journey the answer will be obvious.

    • @aerogardenexperiments
      @aerogardenexperiments  3 года назад +9

      Great question. It's a long story. I started with just 1 to see how it works, and unconsciously ended up with 8 unit within 2 months. Later I did lot of research about buying something big like iHarvest or even a commercial type of hydroponic system. But I learned that mixing of plants doesn't work well. It works for very few, but I had pretty bad luck mixing them. Also, some plants like tomato, pepper, eggplant requires good spacing. For example, if I go with iHarvest, even though it supports 30 holes, I can grow 6 tomato plants only. Otherwise they get crowded and create all sorts of problem. Growing lettuce in all 30 holes shouldn't be a problem. With separate Aerogarden (or iDoo) units, I can grow 1 variety of plants in entire unit and space it out as needed. I can clean up the gardens easily. If I am bored with one crop, I can trash all plants from 1 unit and start over with a new crop easily. Lot more comfort for me as well as for plants.
      This is just my way of thinking. Others may have different perception.

      @alexandrabavcevic9643 3 года назад +1

      @@aerogardenexperiments That is excellent information. As I am completely new to this I have a lot to learn. The only downside I could see was that it would be quite a project to clean those large units. I had not thought about the mixing of plants. Thank you so much for answering my question.

    • @JessBlake2

      I have 21 Bounties and Harvests. I agree with Aerogarden Experiments about being able to grow different kinds of plants. I grow tomatoes, beans, peppers, okras, greens, lettuce and all the herbs/spices. Each plant needs a different growing environment so I can have flexibility and control and I can experiment a lot. For example, lettuce requires cool water and much less nutrition than other plants and only has about a 3-4 month life span before starting to bolt and get bitter. I'm able to keep myself in continuous daily lettuce by growing a batch in one, and starting a second batch as the first starts to bolt.

      IDoo models are pretty confusing. Model number shows same IG201 for both black and red but Amazon calls red one as newer model. I also noticed that different sellers provided different specs. So, it's hard to say. But as long as the model number is same, I assume the specs are same.

    Any systen that size is a propagation system in my book, you need to transplant into bigger systems after 1-3 weeks to achive good yields. I know they are marketed differently, but just look at the size of one lettuce head or a single basil plant you can buy at a store. They fill up more than half of the whole system. Nevertheless, for they are awesome for small scale propagation. If you would like to propagate more than 12 seedlings at a given time, it might be worth looking into a commercial grow light like the spider farmer SF300, which is even cheaper than the iDOO. Downside being that it is not that maintainance-free and you have to buy a mini greenhouse / propagation tray in addition.
    Oh, by the way, I don't think these systems are made for roots vegetables like the radish. I am surprised the turned out that well.
