Thank you for the reaction. I found Eivør while listening to Heilung performances. I have also seen her perform live which was the greatest musical experience I have ever witnessed. If you like this performance then I would also suggest Eivør - The Last Kingdom: Main Theme (Live at Hammersmith Apollo) and my all time favorite Eivør - Falling Free (Live at the Old Theater in Torshavn).
Trollabundin = "spellbound"...As noted, Eivor Palsdottir is from the Faroe Islands, near Iceland I believe.....she is a traditional "folk" artist, focusing on songs that recall a Norse tradition, but can sing from any genre...she performs in multiple languages, but her native Faroese is beautiful to hear....check out any version of her "Falling Free" and her duet with Einar Selvik of Wardruna performing "Helvegen".......
Eivør is not from Iceland, Denmark, Norway or Sweden. Eivør is from the 18 small islands called the Faroe Islands that lie alone out in the Nordic Atlantic where the weather is very harsh and changing but also fascinating, scary and beautiful. The oldest Viking language is found on the Faroe Islands, which is the language the people on the Faroe Islands speak on a daily basis. The Faroese can also speak several other languages. Only 50,000 Faroese live on the Faroe Islands and approx. 4000 foreigners who work in the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands are a colony of the Kingdom of Denmark, but the Faroese do not consider themselves and the Faroe Islands as Danish. They say they are Faroese!! And most of the time Eivør sings in Faroese.
The Faeroes is not a colony. Also, the weather is not that harsh; it is just 4 degrees celsius and storm and rain 300 days of the year. Fantastic place, nice people.
@@PalleRasmussen You are wrong. The winters are harsh and never to be trusted. There are several hurricanes every winter. If you have visited the Faroe Islands several times, it is not the same as living in the Faroe Islands. The weather is much more changeable within a few hours in the Faroe Islands than in the rest of Europe. Especially in winter.
@roykilgour9790 I suggest you try a year in Greenland then come back and tell me about the harsh weather on the Faeroes, ok? Also the weather is not that different than the Orkneys, Scotland, Vestlandet in Norway, or in Iceland. It is all "Gulf Stream in North Atlantic" weather.
I was so lucky being in the audience that night experiencing this magic performance. Trollabundin was magic, but one other song made me cry even more: ruclips.net/video/U4bhR_tMUkc/видео.html : Hope you may react to it as well!

@PalleRasmussen 257 days 😊🙈
@roykilgour9790 😆🤣
I still love them. But when you lived in Greenland for three years, the Faeroes seem mild.
