  • Persistent Storage with Kubernetes in Production - Which Solution and Why? [I] - Cheryl Hung, StorageOS
Persistent storage often seems like a confusing plethora of options, from local volumes, NFS, distributed storage like Ceph, cloud storage such as AWS’s EBS and S3, to volume plugins with Docker and Kubernetes integration. This talk compares and contrasts the most popular solutions, and lays out the eight principles for cloud native storage.
    About Cheryl Hung

Very informative Video. Helped me choose a storagebackend for k8s and neatly summarized the challenges faced with this topic.

Very nice talk, was still wondering which solution to choose. Now I gonna take this storageos anyway.

Useful talk. I really liked the first half. It was a bit of a tough crowd there, but I can understand some skepticism about selling StorageOS. That being said, I came here because I didn't want to use NFS, so...thanks for confirming my fears.
I'm just a guy with servers in my basement, though. :) NFS might win anyway...

"Please not NFS" "ZFS is a good option but NFS isn't"... Why the heck isn't exporting ZFS Volumes via NFS an option but using EFS (which is basically NFS managed by AWS) is?

Awesome, thanks and the speaker held her nerves very well, I can hear her heart beating, if you turn the volume up in the headphones you can catch it, especially between 1 min and 2.

A little higher bitrate would have been awesome. Anyway, good talk.
