Is it possible to adjust tempo on the various drum patterns ? This is unclear on all reviews. There is a tempo button that doesn’t appear to have a real function. Or are the barios drum beats fixed in tempo and pattern?
Good review, lads, i was curious what you'd think of it. I've been using this amp to play gigs with my ukulele group for the last couple of months. Funnily enough with a Flight Vanguard solid body humbucker uke. I do exactly what you mention, i have a pedalboard with distortion and the amp is a great pedal platform. The USB power out is great too. I've used it to power a Zoom multifx pedal (g1 four x) and even a 6 channel mixer! Battery life is way more than 3 hours. I love this amp!
It's equipped with 2 speakers, a 6.5" speaker and 2.75" tweeter. It's mono, but that's not a bad thing - if it was stereo, the speakers would be so close together you wouldn't notice.
It really is! Boss and Roland have always been at the forefront of battery powered amps like this. You can get ones similar price to this with less bells and whistles, or spend more to get something very similar. I imagine this one is at a cheaper price point due to the lack of brand recognition - but they're getting more and more known!
Seems like a very nice amp with some well thought out features for on the go all-in-one use. Reminds me of a Roland Cube series amp with some combined features. The Roland Street series seems to encompass this with their phone APP controls (also bluetooth) for those who want more remote tech. Or go with the more traditional cube if prefer turning knobs, etc. This Joyo BSK-40 seems to be a nince combination of each. These Rolande-style copies offer us choices. Especially if their price competitive.
Completely agree. And for a market that's been quite controlled by only a handful of companies, it's quite nice to see an outsider stepping in with something that can go up against the big names!
@@AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV Yes, great point. This often times makes them all compete not just on features, but pricing too ! A win/win for us as customers! I'll be checking this one out as soon as I can.
Cool little amp. Like the fact you can angle it up like a monitor and use it for direct recording. Only concern would be the built in battery that I'm not a huge fan of, as they have a limited life. Otherwise cracking bit of kit. 😎
I can tell you that I have the BSK 60, and it lasts for 8/9 hours and it’s battery life hasn’t degraded despite somewhere in the region of 300 busking trips.
"… and I even like the colour". Looks like a very comprehensive bit of kit for some uses. A nicely thorough review.
Thanks Jon!

There's not a way to set it to an exact tempo, but there is a tap-tempo button where you can tap out the speed you want the drums to be at! :)

Very cool! Glad to hear it meets our expectations out in the wild!
enjoyed the great review. How big and how many speakers does it have? is the speakers in stereo or seems to be in mono?

@Uke_in_Flight Absolutely! Looking forward to Roland's reply to this one with a built in church organ! 😂

Yeah, we're obviously not sure how long the battery will survive for, but love the usability of it all!

Is this amp loud enough to do a coffeehouse or pub gig with it mounted on a pole. I would be using guitar and vocal mic. Thanks!
Yes it would be perfect!
@@AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV I did end up buying it, but note that even with a quality vocal mic, the input sensitivity is weak? What would be a solution?
What mic are you using? We tried with a Shure SM58 and had volume.
@@AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV I am using a Shure SM-48. Sensitivity should be about the same as yours. I had to max the mic gain to keep up with the guitar.
For the price..... NEXT.
Completely fair, but it's a decent price for what you get!
