Great video! I’ve tried to go with a 4-4-2 at the start this season and am trying to be flexible incase we notice a new trend with value in attackers/midfield. That being said I’ve gone with the usual suspects of liverpool and City defender but give the loss of key players and the uncertainty around what Chelsea will play like, I’ve avoided their premium defenders until their situation is a lot clearer. I still think James is a good asset but have a very unclear view on if he will play in a back 4 or 5 and what Chelsea overall will look like.
What I will say as an arsenal fan is that absolutely no one is talking about Saliba and I would love to see his underlying data! For me, he is absolutely nailed on to start and I think Ben white will play right back.
Great video once again. The dilemma I have is around James, will he play wing back or RCB. Plus the defence of Chelsea pre season concerns me but lets wait and see
I was thinking the same too but the way I see it is with Azpi leaving they don't have any other proper RB's and Chelsea still have Chalobah if they wanna play a 5 at the back or they can revert to a 4 at the back with only Koulibaly and Silva as the Center Backs but there's also talks that they are in for Fofana from Leicester so I think James should get the RB spot
I’m all over Dalot. Had him since my first draft and can’t see that changing. Reckon he’s currently nailed on and could be a great asset at 4.5 in an attacking ETH team.

I really rate VVD and Dias highly for the first 10 GW or so. It doesn't seem to be the case that double LIV-MCI is a common strategy until the first WC from the teams that I'm seeing, even though this has been a staple in the past when both teams have fixture runs like they have now. Maybe it's because it's the start of the season, but I'm definitely going for it. Having two absolutely nailed and proven center backs will not only make it really hard for the other 6m options to outscore them given their history, (James will have a hard time beating Dias over the first 10 I think, and Chelsea don't look to convincing) it also removes the headache for a possible midweek rotation between GW 4-6, where it wouldn't be a surprise to see Tsimikas starting over Robertson at LB vs Bournemouth. VVD and Dias are the least likely to be rotated, as they are the commanders of the backline of their teams, are threats in the air and both don't shy away from long balls either. Having a back four that likely doesn't need too much attention in the part of the season where transfers are THE most important (faster price rises, overall transfer activity) can really allow you to micromanage the value in midfield and up top. Going with Perisic and James or even Zinchenko, who have good ceilings but are a lot more unpredictable, this might prove valuable, especially given their high ownership that can make you hava to prioritize transferring them out if something doesn't go according to plan (a likely scenario). The question is: will they outscore Dias-VVD over the first 10, even if they start all games (best case scenario)? I don't know, especially with the extra concern from the new 5-sub rule, which might affect wide defenders more than it does center backs - possibly decreasing their output (but increasing their CS potential when played 60+ mins). From another perspective, this might affect center backs from good defensive teams positively as well since they will have more minutes to gain bonus points, increasing their overall point potential. A center back is also more likely to get completely rested vs a wide defender. IF Dias or VVD get rested, they probably won't come in at all bar injuries during the game, allowing your bench to come in. All signs point to a cheap playable bench this year, which attracts me. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but VVD-Dias seems like one hell of a pair to go alongside (imo essentials) TAA-Cancelo.

Fair enough but remember you don't have to go differential from day 1 to do well in FPL and in fact to all you really do is risk having a horror of a start and end up chasing the pack for the rest of the season. @@Rizwaan122 the season before last you had an amazing defence with Maguire lol, football fans have a short memory! But yes it’ll probably be a wait and see thing with United
@@samuelconway8961 there's a lot of factors contributing to this. To contextualise our "great defensive season", Liverpool with their defence in utter crisis for most of the season conceded 42 goals. We conceded 44. Also think another factor here was awb was actually good, he shut down everything that came down his side. Our defence has always been frail, remember we always play with 2 DMs protecting our defence which makes it much easier for the back line but they still get exposed. Statistically maguire mightve been alright that season but he's had about 4 or 5 games in his whole time at united where he's actually looked solid, comfortable and dominant. Essentially what I'm saying is even if united had the best defensive record in Europe, you watch 1 game of maguire, mctominay and Fred and you'll wanna scratch ur eyes out. Any positives defensively I assure you has nothing to do with them
@@Rizwaan122 I think that’s the thing though, his whole career at United he’s played without a suitable defensive mid in front of him, little to no protection unlike at Leicester with Ndidi, maybe that’ll help
@@FPLRaptor One hundred per cent wrong. The most opposite of this. I have two engineering degrees and statistics at A-Levels and am without exception saying this is not my opinion but /literal/ mathematic fact.
Especially now, you have the whole of last season’s /actual/ stats, coupled with past performances of teams, managers and players. If you really want specifics. For forwards, shots in the box and conversion rates are more reliable which, are player specific and not based upon a league average of every single player. Goals scored isn’t too far off Xg for the big players last season but Xa is all over the place. But the biggest problem with expected is for unreliable players, Maupay, Watkins, Toney etc because their form is so erratic you only know they might keep having chances. Surely they are the ones you want to forecast. If they were “predictive” they would approximately match up with actual stats after gw38. This is not the case.

😂😂 not hopeful yet then?
@@samuelconway8961 in previous seasons we've been a laughing stock cuz of maguire and mcfred. This summer we've gotten rid of about 6 players and are looking to move on 2 or 3 more.....none of these are the terrorist trio. Expecting a 7th place finish this season. I'm gonna be laughing my ass off when other united fans pull out the surprised pikachu faces when we don't do well
@@Rizwaan122 the season before last you had an amazing defence with Maguire lol, football fans have a short memory!
Any positives defensively I assure you has nothing to do with them
@@Rizwaan122 I think that’s the thing though, his whole career at United he’s played without a suitable defensive mid in front of him, little to no protection unlike at Leicester with Ndidi, maybe that’ll help
zinchenko trippier or digne
Ben White? Saliba ? Tomiyaso might not play rb white will take his place and saliba and Gabriel will play cb
I like 👍
Thanks!

Hi mate.
Notification gang! 👊🏼
@@FPLRaptor 👊🏻
Jesus. When we have points for expected data… make me care.
Expected data is the most accurate predictor of future performance that we have available in most instances
