I just finished separating vintage pokemon collection of genuine and fakes mixed up. One thing i noticed is fakes never have the color and visual quality of a real one. Did the rip test on a vintage dark celebi and it was real 😢 I'll never forget that moment.
My friend gave me a box of her sons old pokemon cards. I found a few cards from 2006-2011 that were common cards but FAKE. who was making counterfeit commons 15 years ago?!
At my local Mexican corner store, they used to sell fake Pokémon booster packs. I was fooled to buy them. It’s immediately apparent that they were fake cards, the quality of the cards is comparable to paper, the print of the cards were really faded. I’m sure those were Mexican bootlegs imports rather than Chinese because of how badly made they were. The Mexican bootleg scene is huge.
I still don't understand the refund chain. Let's do a fictive example. I sell a booster box that I bought from my local game store 15 years ago and it just collected dust in my house. Then a year(s) after the sale the buyer comes back and claims the box was a re-seal. Now I don't know what may or may not have happened to the box in the last year(s) so why should I even for a second consider to giving them there money back? All I know is I did not tampered whit it it and 15y ago when I bought it I was sure it was the real deal. Now why would I even consider giving a refund? Maybe we can talk about things if it was a few weeks after I sold it. No, I'm not pulling anyone's leg here. As I sad I truly don't get it maybe someone can explain it to me once and for all.
The Golbat on the fake box looks off. Not as raound as the one on PokéRevs site. Could maybe be the angle, but it seems too modern. And also P-hole and white creamy stuff? The only thing missing is that Kyogre would be based on a sp*rm whale....😂😂 Think I'm gonna drop my phone into a volcano next....
Great video as always Rattle! It's been bugging me for a while and wanted to ask, do you skate or used to skate? Noticed in all your videos you're wearing Hook Up and JK Industries hoodies all the time :) Cheers man
I would say for the “re-collector” (haven’t bought any since 1995) or a new collector there is one exception to the backs of the cards is the gold accents. I’m not sure what collections those come from but, I didn’t know about the gold accents right away...... 🤷♂️ Just sayin
I don’t think this is a correct assessment. Hahaha although there are lots of fakes, you’re right. But to say there are more fakes than the actual company prints, is kinda wild haha
@TomHardysUglierYoungerBrother I did say probably so maybe there are 1 or 2 more real than fakes. LOL. Over 50% of Pokémon I see at yard sales are fake. Getting to where it's not worth bothering to look at anymore. And the fakes keep getting better.
@@craigwinans1948 1 or 2 more reals than fakes is still wild yo haha. I’ve even bought a fake on accident, but you think they have some production line pushing out one or two cards less than what pokemon is putting out?? I agree, there are tons of fakes. It ain’t even close to what you’re saying tho. Just trying to be informative. :) and they definitely are getting better with the eye test for sure, like I said, I’ve been fooled by one before. But ONE, out of about a few thousand cards I’ve bought. That’s all I’m tryin to say. :)
I wouldn't trust everything rattle says, he said the 1st edition lines up with the t, true but I've pulled and seen where the line lines up with the i also.
Im done with this hobby as of today. Got dn pokemon is lime crack. You cant never find product. You cant sell becasue of the big youtubers. And scammers .. like fuck this hobby all to gether. Im selling 25 years worth of pokemon ..
Been there many times, ultimately love for cardboard is stronger than disgust for scammers. However, I've sold a lot of my stuff that was overvalued (like Eeveelutions) and I'm not regretting it at all.
My p hole looks nothing like that

Darn it I’ve been looking at the wrong P hole..
this video needed a P hole counter at the beginning.
So the pokemon stamp shouldn’t have an outline? Even on the black background? I don’t think you could see the black text on the black background
That Rocket booster box was manufacture from scratch out of internet photos and the Wizard of the Coast logos were pull from internet images.

Is there any difference on these check depending on where the card has been printed?

The problem with Pokémon is that there are probably more fakes than real cards .
