I love your videos because although you’re tailored towards the b58 platform. I can still apply the knowledge to any other engine modify. #n55

The boost taper is because if you shift in a auto it builds boost so if you run the same psi all the way to redline, you’ll be over the target on the next gear after shifting

Hi Kern. I have bimmerlink. How do I see my wastegate duty cycle?

Watched the video, but am still a bit confused.
My WGDC in the log BEFORE going WOT is at about 98%. Once WOT, it goes shortly to 100% and falls down to 84-86% throughout the pull. What should all of that tell me!?
Is 100% closed or how should that be interpreted!?
I believe the interpretation of wgdc is not very clear from the video, focus is on troubleshooting instead.

What I am really saying is that without reference values for different setups and loads, the WGDC value is not particularly useful, except for comparison.
But anyway - thanks for another informative video!

@@Y.D.43210 I can't even give that because it'll vary based on environmental conditions and setups. That's why I said you'd need to figure out the appropriate ones with your guner.

Yo what up Kern. Just wondering are we looking at the WGDC 1 (%) number? I have a pull in 3rd gear and that number is no lower than 78 and hits 100 for a bit but mostly around 90s. Would that tell me my turbo is working really hard and I need to upgrade the air flow? This is on a stage 2+ 91 map.

If you hit boost target, I'll say it's ok.

On my E82 N55 I am only making about half of boost target at WOT according to my MHD logs. The target is 10.9 and it is making 4.9 and the highest boost I have seen is about 6PSI The car has VRSF intercooler and charge pipes. It would seem to me that if I had a boost leak the WGDC would be near 100% but I am seeing about 45%. Am I over simplifying it or can you use WGDC as an indication of boost leak? .

It can be a lot of things in your case. A smoke test will confirm if there's a boost leak

My 340 on MhD stage 2, OTS E40 has the waste gate get up to 96-98% without hitting the Boost target…. Currently getting revisions from MHD, but I’m confused on what it could be, I’m steadily making 18-19PSI but I know the WGDC should be mid 80% with my setup, anything????
