Jinjer and the Warning are very different but also alot alike in their work ethic, intelligence, humility, and kindness.
Tatiana can sing like an angle or growl like a demon all with a smile on her face.
Also like the Warning, they don't have bad song and each one is unique and beautifully composed the well thought out lyrics. Tatianas voice is incredibly versatile as well.

Tatiana writes her lyrics initially in Russian and then translates them to English. The general consensus is that the printed lyrics are not exactly what she's singing. Rather than "Scaled armour blaze. Virgin innocence." it sounds, and it would make a lot more sense if she's singing "Scaled armour belies virgin innocence."
Per Eugene it is blaze, it has always been blaze. It was on a live that he and Tati did during the pandemic. It also says blaze in the liner of the CD/Album.

Great first reaction, sir. Jinjer is an incredibly skilled band. Tatiana is a brilliant lyricist, there will always be meaning in their songs. Vlad is an amazing drummer, being largely self-taught, but is trained as concert pianist. Eugene is a beast on bass, and Roman is no slouch. Jinjer is groove metal, but their jazz and reggae chops are there as well. Like The Warning, Jinjer excels in live performance, and Tatiana is absolutely magnetic as a front person.

Yes, that just happened. Tatiana is a world class growler she can make guttural to clean angelic vocals transitions and back at the speed of light. I have been a Jinjer fan 6 years now and this band is positively addictive. Jinjer is a rabbit hole well worth jumping into.

You're right there on the lyric meaning. Yes, duality, also demonstrated in the clean and harsh vocal switches. Tatiana is a Pisces , and wrote most of the lyrics. Eugene (bass) is also a Pisces, and helped her finish them. She is mostly self taught, using the false vocal folds for the growls, and not the vocal chords. Pisces is an older song ,redone in this live session to showcase Vlad on drums ,who had joined the band not long before this. Eugene, Vlad, and Roman(guitar) are all awesome musicians. Most want to see her do it live, and will check out Perennial at Wacken 2019 or Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev next.
If you get the chance to see them live, I highly recommend it. I have been listening to them and watching their videos for several years. But only experienced them live last year. They are even more impressive live.
There is so much to unpack with this video. First, it has 84 million views and 37,000 comments, as well as 1600 reactions (well, 1601 now!). Second, I love how this video sets you up. It begins with this smallish attractive woman singing a very nice pop voice while the band plays beautifully underneath. And then comes her growl, which shocks the hell out of everyone. By the time she comes back to the verse, you do not see that same woman- you see someone who is terrifying underneath that slender body, and you can see that violence hiding under the surface- so by the time we get to the end, she is completely wild and feral, and goes from growl to belt and back to an even fiercer growl to end. And here is the thing- this video was actually created to showcase Vlad, the drummer, who had just joined the band- which it does really well- listen to his ghost notes early on and his phenomenal blast beats at the end- as well as the double tapping on bass and the gorgeous chording of the guitar. Saw this for the first time only 3 weeks ago and have watched it over and over again. What a band! Tati is the best singer in metal. Check her out on I Speak Astronomy or others songs.
You remind me of me a year ago when I first discovered Jinjer. You've already learned a lot about them in 3 weeks. They came out of left field for me and completely revolutionized my way of listening to metal--after listening to metal for like 45 years lol. I was fortunate that they were touring America when I discovered them, and I was able to see them live at a small venue just two weeks later. Love at first listen, like only rarely before in my life.

She's well known for those transitions. There are more good videos of Jinjer than most channels are willing to cover but some good suggestions would be Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air. Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv, Captain Clock Live at Resurrection Fest, Outlander Official Live at Loudfest, Judgement and Punishment One Take Vocal.

Tati has said that it feels like she has two throats that are completely separate, and that makes it easier to switch between them while keeping them apart (using your true vocal folds for harsh vocals is possible, but risky).
As stated below, Perennial live at Wacken is a good next step. If you want something newer, check out Vortex. And a song that has become painfully current though it was written in 2014 is Home Back.
I've been subbed for a while, I cant recall what brought me to your channel, usually it's Jinjer or Ren that introduces me to a new channel. But as a connoisseur of music reactions I'm shocked you are 25K subs deep into the reaction game and just now getting to this song. I mean no shade with that. It just surprises me. Normally when I see a new reaction to Jinjer, its a new channel. Props. I discovered Jinjer from Elizabeth Zharoff's channel, The Charismatic voice, IDK...maybe 3 years ago, and they have quickly become one of my favorite all time bands. I'm not normally a Metal guy. I grew up in the 80s so I liked the old school stuff, but generally I listen to more blues, jazz, classic rock. Jinjer has blown me away. Tatiana is a born superstar. I'm not sure there is another lead vocalist of any genre that is more captivating and attention grabbing. Her stage presence in live performances is absolutely top tier. When I discovered them, my initial thought was, I need to hear more djent style European metalcore, and I need to listen to more female fronted metal bands. On both accounts, nothing has stood up to Jinjer. I like Lena, I like Courtney, but neither of them can hold a candle to Tatiana.
Same. No band is as exciting as Jinjer, and no other singer is as captivating as Tatiana. She singlehandedly changed my mind about harsh vocals, and I now enjoy a lot of other metalcore artists. But none are on the level of Jinjer.
I do have a new obsession: IKINÄ from Finland. They have not one but TWO badass hot female singer/screamers, both with amazing clean and harsh voices--and they do both in harmony!
A couple other good ones are Ankor and Future Palace. I need lots of melody and groove with my metalcore. I find that I prefer female metalcore singers.

We saw The Warning in Michigan a few years sgo at Upheaval Festival and Jinjer headliner in Grand Rapids Mi, with P.O.D, Vended a metal band whos lead singer is Griffin Taylor, son of slipknott sing Cory Taylor, and the opener was anothef cool metal band from Ukraine calles Spaces of Variations
Jinjer's song "Who is Gonna be the One" would be a great one to react to. Tatiana gets inhumanly deep in one part of the song towards the end. You should also check out some Arch Enemy, another female lead that growls, actually on their second lead singer. Plus Crypta and many other bands with female growlers. Definite rabbit hole you can dive down at some point. 😁

Great reaction guy! One of the best I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a lot. You got it. My take is that she’s swimming upstream looking for light and love only to be caught and killed by handsome butchers. When the war in Ukraine started, their home, they all volunteered. They were told to continue touring and support the cause. Should have kept her. She could have won some battles just by scaring the hell out of the enemy.😊

When it saw in the thumbnail you had reacted to Jinjer for the first time, i had to watch lmao. Tatiana has such a beautiful normal voice, personally I'd rather just hear that. I'm not really a fan of groeling vocals, male or female, but I've gotta say it eas priceless seeing your reactoon when she switched it up. You're usually pretty stoic, so when you said "WTF!" with that look of alarm on your face, I suddenly became a fan of growling--at least for this reaction.😂
Hello my wife and I recently found you on you tube reacting to the Warning, we saw them live, as well as Jinjer 2 years ago, both Awesome, bands, Jinjer is Ukrainian band, some of my favorite songs are: Perennial, Vortex, who is Gonna Be The One,, Home Back, Teacher Teacher, Outlander, Wallflower, there many, this group of jinjer not original, as Tatiana is longest member in current Jinjer, and as Tatiana has said they don't have a meaning to band name even she doesn't know that, but this current group has been together if I remember right in 2009/10

If your new to female harsh vocals I recommend Otep-Blood Pigs she is the OG female harsh vocalist and Spiritbox-Circle With Me one take vocal Courtney has a soft smooth voice with very fast quick flips to harsh and back in a very tasteful way.

Like the Warning they are better to check out live performances than the MV's. There is a lot of good quality live performances out there to choose from.

Tatiana uses primarily a non-tonal harsh vocal style, meaning her vocal folds play very little role in the sound you’re hearing. They’re generally lower pitch for both men and women, and she specifically uses this style primarily because she said she wants people to question if it’s a guy or girl doing the harsh vocals. I prefer tonal harsh vocals, but everyone has their preference.
Also, if you have negative effects on your voice after doing harsh vocals, you’re doing them wrong.

One thing: there's dispute about one line of the chorus, since more than one version has been published, but _audibly_ Tatiana is singing "Scale armor belies virgin innocence", which makes both grammatical and poetic sense (I would argue it's pivotal to the entire piece), rather than "Scale armour blaze, Virgin innocence" which doesn't.
If you're asking my best guess at it, I have no idea. I was just reading the lyrics I Googled. I think your first interpretation makes more sense. But as I also mentioned I am horrible at deciphering growls. Once I hear more of her, and get accustomed to her voice (rather than utterly shocked), I may be better help?

Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces ever. Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business.
