    Is this video supposed to have sound?

    I see that the external LED has a sensor right next to it, i'm guessing that it detects envirumental lights to sense if the LED is being blocked, would painting over the LED but keeping the sensor uncovered work without the notification message saying please uncover LED?

      Would love here from you guys if there is an ambient light sensor.

      I wonder if it would be possible to 3D print a cover that keeps a small light channel open between LED and sensor while blocking the LED to external view. Of course, I imagine that simply wiring out the sensor would be childs play for anyone with technical skills. And, of course, since everything is controlled by software it will not be long until these are jailbroken and modded to work in any way the wielder desires.

      I already modded my glasses to record without the capture LED. 😎 I broke the glass piece covering the capture LED, drilled into the module until I reached the LED, punctured it to disable it, allowing me to record without the LED. However, this left an unsightly hole on the capture LED side. To remedy this, I filled it with clear resin and cured it with a UV LED. Now, it looks like new, as clear resin can resemble glass!

    Thanks for this video, I've been wondering how to change the lens of these glasses if required, it seems like it's just popping them out? Is that correct? Thanks in advance!

      @manboTube  10 месяцев назад +1

      Not sure if that was appropriate, but you can pop it out with your hands.

    Can an IR pass tape or polarized film block the sensor light led but still make it usable for recording?

      i was thinking about apply window tint film over it.

      @@fondooI saw someone do that, he just pinched a hole in the film and you can barely see the light. But it worked.

    I'd love to get your torn down Meta glasses so I can do some hardware testing on them. I see a number of exposed test pins we all want to see probed!

    Thanks for this detail teardown! Do you think you can heat the end of the arm to adjust/bend them (where the arm curves behind the ear)? I see a black thing inside the arm but I'm not sure if it's electronic or just plastic to make the arm stronger.

    • @manboTube
      @manboTube  10 месяцев назад +2

      The black thing is some kind of tape or sheet and I don't think it has any electronic function to it. I would say it is technically ok to reform the arm... but cannot tell for sure.

      I don't think so I somehow bent the frame so bad when I put my head on the table that I broke some connection peice within on the right side top upper temple. Battery isn't connected anymore

    Can you reupload with the sound? This is a good tear down. The other video I just watched destroyed their pair

  • @onenote6619
    @onenote6619 8 месяцев назад

    There was a youtube video on a partial bypass of the 'recording' LED. A sticker over the LED with a pinhole in it greatly reduces visibility without tripping the sensor. Of course it is only a matter of time until the LED/sensor are hardwired out or patched out in software.
